In May 2012 I was invited by PBS to attend their Annual PBS meeting in Denver Colorado; as promised I have LOTS of amazing news and one show I’m very, very, very excited about is the brand new show that will Air on Labor day is “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”.
We where treated to an amazing Breakfast, courtesy of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood with lots of surprised. The room was beautifully decorated and everywhere you turned was some kind of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
During our amazing Breakfast we learned ALL about the brand new kids show “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”. I’m super excited to tell ALL of you about this new show and you can ask my kids and husband, I have yet to stop talking about the show, that’s how excited I’m.
DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, a new animated multi-platform series inspired by one of the most beloved PBS classic television series, MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD. The new preschool series is an animated version of the original Neighborhood of Make Believe in which a four-year-old Daniel Tiger is the star of the show who talks directly to the home audience inviting them in to his world. The first television series produced by The Fred Rogers Company since MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD, DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD will launch in Fall 2012 on-air on PBS KIDS, along with a robust website, including free, interactive games for kids, online resources for parents and teachers, and other cross-platform content.
DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD is based on the next generation of the original MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD characters. All of the original characters have grown up and now have preschoolers of their own. DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD stories revolve around a four-year-old Daniel Tiger, son of the original Daniel Tiger, and his preschool friends. The series uses musical strategies grounded in Fred Rogers’ landmark curriculum and music. In this way, the songs will give parents and kids a concrete way to practice important pro-social skills together.
DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD brings together a group of today’s leading creators of children’s media and educational technology. The series was developed by the acclaimed Fred Rogers Company in association with Out of the Blue Enterprises.
The executive producers of DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD are Kevin Morrison, for The Fred Rogers Company, and Angela Santomero, cofounder of Out of the Blue Enterprises and the creative force behind the hit PBS KIDS literacy series SUPER WHY!. In addition to this key partner, The Fred Rogers Company is joined by 9 Story Entertainment, bringing award-winning animation capabilities to the production, and top game designer Schell Games, which will spearhead the series’ digital educational applications.
While at the conference we also got to meet Mrs. Rogers, yes.. Mr. Roger’s wife; what an honor it was to have our picture taken with her and to hear her speak and her excitement in her voice to have Mr. Rogers legacy live on in Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. It was truly amazing!!
Isn’t it such a cute show?? I’m super excited and can’t wait for the launch on Labor Day 2012. Be sure to stay tuned to my Blog for more updates and you can also check out PBS Kids on the Web or follow on Facebook or Twitter to hear any news about Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
I was invited by PBS Kids on an all expense paid trip to attend the PBS Annual meeting in Denver Colorado; I was not asked to write about my experience, the trip or any of the PBS shows; I actually wasn’t asked to write anything at all.. BUT I was so impressed and I LOVE anything PBS does, I wanted to share with all my readers; all opinions and views are 100% my own and no other compensation will be received in regards to this trip.
