Meet My Friend Cayla she is a talking doll #Review

I know, Christmas is like 20 shopping Saturdays away, I totally think it’s time to prepare now before the madness. I love finding deals and things for the kids all year round, hide it and when the Christmas Season rolls around I can hang out with the kids, relax and have a great time.

Plus no hustle and bustle running around looking for that VIP toy that is a MUST under the tree. Let me give you a little sneak peek what a HOT toy this year looks like and I think you need to grab it while you can.  Let me introduce you to my friend Cayla.

She is already a hot ticket item on my daughter’s friends list and all her girls are talking about this BFF named Cayla. I finally sat down and checked on what, who and where Cayla is and was surprised myself.

We all know we are living in a technology age, I’ve heard people say my kids will not get any talking toys or toys that are Wi-Fi ready, but honestly you let your kids use your iPad, iPhones and the computer, so what difference does it make if you have a BFF doll that actually talks back to you just like a real life person would?

Cayla is super cute, super fun and I know she will melt any mom’s heart seeing her little girl interact and have fun with her. My Friend Cayla is like a real friend! She can answer all sort of questions, play games, tell stories and talk about pictures in her photo albums with the help of her mobile application.

We finally arrived in the 21st century, I’m excited and my daughter is super excited that Cayla is big enough to play kitchen, doll house all the fun things that every doll mommy wants to play but also answers her questions and chats back and forth with her while doing so, super cool!

For those of you that are concerned about how safe playing with Cayla is, There are four levels of safety features built in to protect children when using Cayla online.

• Cayla’s software system, called Violet, checks for any offensive or sensitive words against a pre-set blocked word list. If the question or answer contains any words on the blocked word list Cayla will automatically tell the child she cannot talk about those things.
• Online safe-search filters will also scan responses for inappropriate content.
• No website links, images, movies etc. will ever show up in the app. There is no ‘data mining’ or storage of any personal information.
• Additional words or phrases can be added to the blocked list via the app. Please note that once a word is added to the blocked list this cannot be undone and the list cannot be viewed

See, nothing to worry about. I’m very confident with the App and the safety. My Friend Cayla works really well and concentrating on interacting with your child, she does have the ability to filter out background noise and other voices that are not geared to her and we really thought that was pretty cool and worked well. However its best if only one person directly talks to her to eliminate confusion, but any background noise wasn’t a problem at all.

The big question for me was can we shut her off; so many toys don’t have a button to turn them off and getting to the batteries always deems a challenge, so we have toys going off in the middle of the night, we all know the stories, not so with my friend Cayla, she not only has an on/off switch you can also deactivate her through the App, double is better :-). She will also shut down if left alone for too long, but I like the shut off button myself.

I’m also impressed that we can adjust her volume level, usually talking toys have one setting and most of the times they talk and talk and you hear them through 5 rooms, not my friend Cayla, you can talk more quietly and actually be less chatty all with a setting adjustment in the app itself, so mom and dad have full control over anything the doll does, isn’t that cool?
