Meet our Precious Götz doll Julia #Review and #Giveaway

April 14, 2013 By Melanie Roberts 31 Comments

We love our Götz Baby come check her out #Review

I love when I can review German products that I personally know and grew up with myself. When I was a little girl my biggest dream was to own a Götz doll. These dolls are amazing, simple, yet very darling and I remember one year for Christmas my mom and dad surprised me with my very own Götz Baby. Now that was 20, well… Maybe 30 years ago and I have wonderful memories of my very first Götz Baby; I wish I had pictures to show you guys.

But, I have super exciting news. Götz made its debut in the US!! Your little girl can own one of her very own and I’m soo excited to tell you guys all about the Götz dolls and why I love them so much.

IMG_1069IMG_1070

To give you a little background of the company. In 1950, Marianne Götz handcrafted beautiful dolls while her husband, Franz Götz, would sell them from a wagon he pulled with his bike. Six decades later, the second generation of Götz family members is still running the show.

The Götz dolls are amazing inside and out. Each doll has their very own unique feature from a realistic looking baby doll, to a toddler that learns how to potty train and then of course the older boys and girls that your little one can relate to and be their best friend, dress them, fix their hair and just have a good ol’ time.

Let me introduce you to our newest member in the Crazy Mom’s house… Meet Julia.

We love our Götz Babie, come check out our #Review (7)

Julia stands 18 inches tall; she can stand on her own. Her hair is a beautiful red color, matching my princess’s hair to the tee. The hair can be brushed, braided and styled as well as washed! YES, your little one can actually wash the dolls hair and style it just like any other real hair. It will come out beautiful and looking amazing! Julia also has a lot of other features, so many that it is easier to show them to you in pictures. Check them all out below.

We love our Götz Babie, come check out our #Review (11)

The Face
Her darling face looks just like your friend next door, sweet, with a slight smile making her the best companion your little one could have in fun times, sad times and through Happy times the facial expression of this Götz doll will be her best friend for a long time to come. Julia’s eyes are also sleepy eyes; they close when you lay her down and open when she is in the upright/sitting position. The eyes are just beautiful and as all the Götz dolls crafted by hand!!

We love our Götz Babie, come check out our #Review (18)

The Hair
Only the highest quality, natural-looking hair is used in Götz dolls. This hair has been developed especially for Götz and, in fact, is still made in Germany! It is rooted into the scalp and is thus easy to care for. Children can easily wash, style, and brush it. Making it a very durable doll for your little one to play with.

The Body
Julia has a soft fabric body, which is filled with wool and fine granulates. Since she is a standing doll her arms and legs are vinyl and movable. You can wipe down her face and body parts with a damp cloth to clean her and if her body gets dirty, spot treat it and she will be as good as new. I just love that she looks like a little girl, almost identical to my princess. The realistic look makes it so much fun to play with the standing Götz doll for many years to come.

The Fashion
Götz dolls are also known for their amazing details. The outfit that each doll has is picked with love, made with quality material and added embellishments that will last forever; you can take your outfit off and put it back on without messing up the detail. Fine touches make them look realistic, just like your little one’s outfits. Check out the shoes that our Julia came with, look amazing and so much like mini Crocs, the shoes are also left and right foot formed, just like the real thing.

The purse that our Julia came with looks identical to a purse you could carry if it wasn’t doll size. But you get the point. The detail is amazing, the colors are vibrant and beautiful and my princess can get her Julia dressed and un-dressed all on her own. Very simple to do with Velcro closure.

Our Julia can also sit on her own and is just a sweet little girl and a great addition to have in our home. I’m super excited to have Götz dolls available in the US now. Thanks to another amazing company that we adore, HABA who made it possible and brought Götz dolls to the US market.

This is a doll that looks sweet, fun and wants to be played with. Don’t leave her sitting on a shelf for fear of breaking. Trust me… you can’t break a Götz doll in a legit way. These dolls are durable, flexible and made for little girls to toss around, spin with, make  cartwheels or just sit at the dinner table watching you eat dinner. Play with them, love them and just spend as much time as you can with them. That’s the best way to interact with a Götz doll.

We love our Götz Babie, come check out our #Review (15)

Oh, another thing I almost forgot, check out the details… aren’t the toes amazing… details details details that’s what Götz dolls are all about. Trust me, you will not be disappointed and your little Princess will have hours, actually years of play time with the Götz dolls. I still play with Götz dolls every chance I get.

We spend hours in Germany last summer playing with the Baby Götz doll and so wanted to bring her back, but immigration (smile) wouldn’t allow her leaving Germany without a passport.

Now you know WHY I love the Götz dolls, they are truly amazing. You so have to check them out the next time you are in the market for a new baby girl. You princess will adore her as much as you will.

For more information, be sure to visit HABA to find out what other Götz dolls and accessories are available in the US. They also have a Facebook and Twitter and would love to have you as their friend.

The Maxy Muffin Brunette Doll would be the one I would choose for my lil girl, but then she probably would want the Muffin Doll with no hair just because she is more like a real baby.

What a cute pal your adorable little girl has there! My grand daughter would surely love these. The quality of the doll looks amazing and I’m so appreciative of well made toys for children, which are sometimes hard to find! Love the washable hair, too, what a clever feature.

How cute. I love how her hair matches your daughters. I have heard of Gotz dolls from somewhere before. My cousin had a German nanny and I think she gave her one. I wonder what happened to it?
