Mitchum Love Thy Pits {Spa Certificate Giveaway}

August 22, 2011 By Melanie Roberts 74 Comments

Whether stressed, scared, bothered or nervous, armpits let you know and yet they have been largely overlooked, until now… Mitchum is encouraging you to “Love Thy Pits” with the new Advanced Control™ stick/solid antiperspirant and deodorant, providing 48 hours of protection for men and women. Formulated to go on and stay dry, Mitchum Advanced Control combines the highest level of active ingredient available in the marketplace with encapsulated fragrance technology that bursts upon contact with perspiration, helping pits navigate even the trickiest of situations with maximum strength and ultimate protection for 48 hours.

I know, this sounds like a weird review, BUT let’s face it, we ALL need it. It’s not something we can live without and why not talk about it. It’s nothing forbidden, just a little “personal”…I guess. I have no problem talking about my new best friend, Mitchum Advanced Control. I have never used this product at all. A few days ago I was asked to check it out and boy am I glad I did. I used it after the shower, like I would my normal deodorant and headed off to work.  As soon as I walked out of the house, the humidity and Florida heat just hit me, 8AM and it’s 87F, what in the world, so glad I’m protected and won’t stink once I get to the office. I had my AC in the car on high to “air” out my arms and Mitchum did an awesome job. I smelled fresh once I got to the office and was ready to start my day.

I’m convinced and need to find a deal on the Mitchum Advanced Control. It states 48 hour strength & protection. I actually had to test this out over the weekend, our water heater busted and I had no place for a shower, talking about sticky situation. I loved the protection from Mitchum Advanced Control and wasn’t worried about “stink” the entire weekend. But I sure was happy when the Water heater arrived and I could take a shower Smile ….Thanks to Mitchum for pulling me through and making the weekend without a shower pleasant to everyone around me.

    16, first job and was out in the heat. I had forgotten deoderant – gasp! It was a long, hard day – with many bathroom breaks to freshen up!

    At work, mid-summer when the A/C can’t keep up and it’s hovering near 80. The worst was the summer I was pregnant. I had to keep extra deoderant at my desk to take along on my frequent bathroom runs anyway. Maybe this stuff would have made it through the day!

    My boss at a non-profit developed laryngitis right before our biggest fundraiser of the year. I was asked to stand in for her and deliver a speech to about 400 of the most influential people in our community. I was a nervous wreck, shaking and sweating like a crazy person!

    One of my most embarrassing moments was on a date. We went horseback riding in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles. I am a big guy. At that time I weighed around 300 pounds. I had never been horseback riding before. They gave me an old horse named Zuma. Zuma was not the biggest fan of me being on his back. As we caravanned up the hills he was panting loudly like he had just ran 20 miles. Everyone turned around. He did this the entire way. I was soooo embarrassed. When the ride was over, I swung my leg around to get off and got caught in the saddle. I fell flat on my butt. Everyone laughed and Zuma looked back at my and shook his head which made people laugh even more. I was bruised for a few days. The good news is I married my date and have been married for over 10 years.

    I moved my daughter into her college dorm on Thursday. It was HOT, the dorm isn’t air conditioned and we lugged all her things up 3 flights of stair in several trips. By the time I met her roommate and her parents, I was wishing I had some stronger deodrant!

    My sticky situation would have to be a job interview I went too. The interview was at 3pm but I was interning at another location from 4am until right before the interview. I usually carry deordant in my purse but for some reason it wasn’t there. When I got off my internship and went to change for my interview, I realized the deordant was missing and I had no time to stop and get some.

    I had to sit through an interview with stinky pits! I am sure that’s why I wasn’t hired.

    I actually don’t sweat too much, thanks to a medicine that I take. (That might be a positive side effect, but it means I am more likely to overheat, and my mouth is always dry.) And I use Mitchum anyway, so I don’t usually worry too much about stinky pits. However, when I was in grad school I had to teach a three-hour class on a subject with which I wasn’t deeply familiar. I had prepared, and usually don’t have trouble speaking to large groups, but this time I was VERY intimidated and scared half to death. I made it through the agonizing hours (and got a B+!) but when it was over and I was gathering my things I realized that my armpits were soaked! The sweat had clearly seeped through my top…I’m not sure I’ve EVER sweat so much! I still cringe when I think of that class watching me in front of them with so much sweat leaking from my pits! 🙂

    Thanks for letting me share that disgusting story. 🙂 Ugh!
