Happy October!! I have been super busy so far and wanted to take a few minutes to settle down and share with you how we make it a family fun night in our home after dark. Have you noticed that the sun sets way too early and comes up way too late? I know, that usually means that Halloween is just around the corner. As a little housekeeping, I’m part of the Netflix #StreamTeam and I was compensated for this post. All ideas and words are as always my own. Now back to how we enjoy our long nights this time of the year.
To get you in the mood I made our Netflix list for the month and I was surprised at how many Halloween movies and shows we were able to find for all ages, too. I’m not sure if we can watch them all before Halloween but here is our bucket list, check it out and maybe your favorite is part of our list, too.
-
Hotel Transylvania 2
-
Girl vs. Monster
-
The Boxtrolls
-
Alvin and the Chipmunks meet Wolfman
-
The Addams Family
-
Corpse Bride
-
Casper’s Scare School
-

These are just a few of our favorite that we will be streaming this month, check out Netflix.com and see what awesome movies they have for your family to be spooked, laughed at or even frightened.
While the kids look for their favorite show, mom could head into the kitchen and gather all the ingredients for my Monster Munch, I bet it will be a hit at any movie party or your next Halloween party, too. So make a bunch, make ahead and store it in an airtight container for weeks to enjoy. Who doesn’t like snacks for movie night? I know my kids love them and they had a blast munching on the Monster Munch, they even loved helping to make it.
Wasn’t the Monster Munch super easy? Isn’t it super fun looking? Yeah we will dish this up many times over the next few weeks for sure, I’m even thinking about making some for family and friends as a Halloween treat gift idea, it’s so easy and can put a smile on everyone’s face in no time.
Would love to hear what movies your family will be streaming in October, leave me a comment below and let’s chat. Don’t forget to make a mental list for Thanksgiving, too. I will share mine in a few weeks just so you have plenty of ideas how to keep everyone busy during the holidays while you are in the kitchen cooking.
Happy Halloween from our family to yours…. Be spooky and be Mary….
