As some of you know, I was invited to attend the PBS Annual Meeting in Denver Colorado with my PBS Kids VIP group. I was super excited and honored to attend the conference and want to share my excitement with you.
I was only there for the Kids portion of the meeting, which was May 15 & May 16th, but it was wonderful. Our coordinator Melissa did a fantastic job keeping all 20 bloggers organized and up to where to be and what to do. AMAZING, she really had us set.
This trip was the first trip I have ever taken on my own, no hubby, no kids, no dogs… just me and a little suitcase; traveling from central Florida to Denver Colorado. I had a blast; the flight was a bit nerve wrecking, especially since I’m the worst flyer ever; but I made the 3.5 hr trip there and I’m glad I jumped my fear of flying and had a wonderful time.
I toured the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Denver, which was a HUGE Hotel, I kept getting lost between towers and rooms and left side of the street and not side of the street; it was so funny. However, I wasn’t alone, a lot of conference attendees did the same thing, we kept getting off the wrong side, floor or what not; we just started to laugh when we saw each other go around the block 2 or 3 times; it was fun.
While I was standing in the hotel Lobby, talking to a fellow blogger and our amazing coordinator Melissa, none other then the amazing Meg Ryan walked by us out the door to her car… HOW super cool was that? My very first celebrity sighting…. We quickly reached for cameras and even got a shot or two…. She was attending a luncheon, where she was a special guest of Half the Sky; a very dear to her heart project; which will Air in the Fall. Be sure to check it out.
Once I arrived in my room, I was greeted with a lot of goodies; I can not believe how out and about the PBS Team went to make us Bloggers feel special. We where treated like royalty, one surprise after another and never a dull moment.
The evening of our arrival we had PBS Kids VIP Reception to meet everyone and get to know each other. The room was beautifully decorated with the “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” Theme, which will be a BIG part of tomorrows Agenda; I can’t wait to find out what Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is all about.
To my surprise Angela Santomero mingled with all of us. She is the brain behind the wonderful kids shows like Super Why, Blues Clues and the upcoming Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. I was blown, as she walked over to me to talk… I honestly didn’t know if she was a blogger or a PBS member, so we did small talk…BOY was I embarrassed when a few minutes later someone mentioned that they saw me talk to Angela Santomero…. *Yup, caught like a deer in headlights* I had soo many questions for her and…. well….. missed my opportunity. I did tell her how much we LOVED Super Why and Blues Clues; she was amazing and super sweet.
We also meet with TV Stations from across the nation and we chatted about all different aspects of PBS and how much we enjoy all they do for our kids, our community and I don’t think there isn’t a life in America that isn’t somehow, someway touched by PBS. It felt wonderful to tell PBS how AMAZING they are and be able to let them know that they are doing a great job!!
We where treated to an amazing dinner at a local restaurant called Vesta Dipping Grill. I had never heard of that restaurant before, but let me tell you… it was AMAZING!!! The food was phenomenal and the Service was first Class; all 20+ Bloggers and PBS Kids employees had a blast checking out all the different dipping sauces and they delivered one Appetizer after another to the table; My favorite….Golden Ponzu Shrimp… Delicious; but actually EVERYTHING we where served was amazing!!
This was a very busy first day for us Bloggers; tomorrow we will learn all about the new upcoming kids show “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and I can’t wait to hear all the ins and outs and share them with EVERYONE. But for tonight, I’m off to bed… this was a busy and long day……
Enjoy some of my re-caps of the day in my slideshow….

I was invited by PBS Kids on an all expense paid trip to attend the PBS Annual meeting in Denver Colorado; I was not asked to write about my experience, the trip or any of the PBS shows; I actually wasn’t asked to write anything at all.. BUT I was so impressed and I LOVE anything PBS does, I wanted to share with all my readers; all opinions and views are 100% my own and no other compensation will be received in regards to this trip.
