Summer is almost here, the days are getting longer and the kids are home soon as well. If your kids are anything like mine they like to roam. We have woods behind our house and no matter how many times I tell them not to hang out there, well… Kids will be kids and do it anyways. We all have done it, I know we did. Did you come home with Poison Ivy rash?
I can’t count how many times I ended up with Poison Ivy all over my legs and gosh the burn, the itch and the tears, did we learn our lesson? Of course not, why would we? As soon as the pain, the swelling the awful sting was gone we went right back into those woods to explore. Kids will be kids and why would this year be any different?
I can tell you what will be different this year, I’m prepared. I found this amazing paste that works wonders on Poison Ivy. It’s simple to make and only a few ingredients, most you probably already have at home or could quickly order on Amazon (affiliate link) or any other store if you like.
Wasn’t this easy? It’s so worth having on hand, I already had to use it once for the kids and it works amazing. It works so good I kind of wish it wouldn’t work that well so the kids don’t think “Well, we can run through poison ivy all day long, mom has the miracle paste for us”, kind of deal. But if you are outdoors, the kids like to explore, this is something you should keep on hand at all times. I even created a simple printable for you so you can print labels and give a small jar to all your friends. They will love you forever!
Here are the ingredients for easy shopping Bentonite clay, Apple Cider Vinegar, Peppermint Essential Oils, Lavender Essential Oils, Colloidal Silver and Aloe Vera Cream (affiliate links). These small glass jars are also perfect for this DIY Poison Ivy Paste project.
You are probably wondering why this works: The Clay mixture pulls the poison ivy oils from the pores thereby drying up the infection very quickly. Adding the apple cider vinegar and colloidal silver prevents infection. The Peppermint oil acts as a pain reliever and the lavender calms and soothes the skin thereby relieving the itch.
Wish I had this when I was younger but since this will last in the fridge for 2-3 weeks you and your kids will never have to worry, just enjoy the great outdoors and have a wonderful Summer.
What are you fun outdoor plans this summer? Leave me a comment below, I always love to hear what you guys are up too. Happy summer ya’all!

Oh my, thanks for sharing this as I am currently covered in poison Ivy on my arms and legs. I have 5 acres of woods, but it is ME not my boys that have a reaction to it. I am definitely going to make this and THANK you for the easy links!
