I usually just shop Publix’s buy-one-get-one-free product sales. This way I can stock up on everything for cheap or free (aiming for free of course ๐ ). I won an Alexia free product coupon (they are sending another one, because this one expires 06/30/11; and I just got it). So, instead of one free product, I’m getting two for free. I always save my free product coupons until the very end just in case a buy-0ne-get-one-free sale comes up for that product.
I’m a Doritos addict, so I stock up on them when there are BOGO or 1/2 price sales like this week. I’m skipping the Oscar Mayer beef hot dogs, because we stocked up on them when there was a $1.00 off one coupon. MyCokeRewards.com has a Ritz/Wheat Thins free product coupon in the rewards section. That would get two boxes for free for the BOGO sale. Crystal Light is BOGO making it about $.75 each after the $1.00 off one coupons. Wet Ones Moist Towelettes come out to about $.80 each with the BOGO sale combined with the $1.00 off two coupon. That’s it for me this week at Publix.
We also do a lot of shopping at BJ’s because there are just a lot of things that come out cheaper combining a BJ’s coupon with manufacturer’s coupon (per unit(s) in package) than we could ever get in the grocery store; especially, cereal. Save-A-Lot has the cheapest milk.
I have learned to shop differently since moving here since they don’t double coupons here, but I’m making it work! ๐

Denise.. AWESOME… you figured out the coupon game… I love it. I do the same thing and been doing it for 4+ years now and wouldn’t want to miss it… way to go, thanks for sharing, I love reading stories and ideas like that ๐

I have actually been doing this for 25 years! ๐ I remember when stores started to double coupons, most to $1.00 (most now only do it to $.99). Would you still believe I have “No Expiration” coupons left from the ’80’s. Once in a blue moon I might actually need one of them, and it’s funny to watch the confusion on the cashier’s face when she notices the coupon has no barcoding!LOL

That also includes coupons for products that no longer exist or the name has been changed on the product! ๐

Denise.. OHHH I love it.. from the 80’s… that is too funny.. I actually have some from Campbell way back and they have no expiration date either.. no idea how old they are..lol.. love it… you are too funny.. thanks for letting us know; wish Florida would double Cp’s, well at least my area doesn’t ๐

I had searched the internet for information on any Florida stores that doubled coupons, and it seems that none do in this state. I think at one time, one of the chains (Winn-Dixie I think) would do an occasional double coupon day, but that’s all I could find. With double coupons, we were able to get most of our groceries for free with the exception of a few things such as meat, produce, toilet paper, etc. Now, our stockpile is much smaller since we have to shop for fewer items now to keep it free or next to nothing.

K-mart does double here in Florida when they have a double event, that’s about the only store I know about at the current time; they double up to $.99; a few weeks ago they had an unlimited up to $.99 double Coupon Promo, usually they only allow about 5 doubles and with the nearest Kmart a good 45- 1 hr away, not worth it for 5 coupons, but unlimited would have been a deal, I was out of town during the event ๐

Those I know about, but I think it only worked out on one occasion for us. It isn’t worth it when they limit the amount and, on top of that, can’t really find something on sale that we need and use.
I have lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. The all-time best grocery store by far is Shop-Rite. They have the best sale and cheapest prices; and, combined with double coupons, you can get a lot for free. Out of the many, many grocery stores I have shopped in through the years, they are definitely the best.
