The kids are back in school and we are trying to get back on track with our morning routine. The great news, school start time was changed back a few hours, yeahhh!!  Making it easy to get breakfast ready for the kids before heading off to the bus. My highschooler doesn’t start school till almost 9 AM, almost unheard off right? Last year he left for the bus at 6:10 am. Love my morning times with him now!

My plan for this year, I will come up with simple and delicious way to get some extra nutrition into everyone while on the go, something different every week. The kids loved the idea of making daily smoothies and I loved the idea of adding Carnation Breakfast Essentials® to give them that little extra something.

We pick up the Carnation Breakfast Essentials® during my weekly shopping trips, the kids get to pick their favorite flavor, from Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate Malt or Dark Chocolate and I make a delicious smoothie each and every day.

This week I made Pumpkin Pie Smoothies, perfect for the fall and great for the start of the new school year.  I love all things fall and pumpkin flavors are my favorite. I wanted to show you how easy these are to make thanks to the Carnation Breakfast Essentials. The fun part they taste amazing in both the Chocolate or the Vanilla. This is a great start into the day even for the picky eaters.

Wasn’t this simple? Doesn’t this look amazing? I totally encourage you to stock up on the Carnation Breakfast Essentials® or the new Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Light Start™ so you can create fun smoothies for your family and everyone will have a great start into the day, too. Trust me, even if you are rushing out the door every morning, these are so simple you can make them for the kids in no time!

Thanks to Carnation Breakfast Essentials Powder Drink Mix my family is getting the nutrients that they need in the morning and with the new Light Start Powder I now have an indulgent low calorie option to enjoy for myself, too.

How do you start into the day? Would love to hear your tips and ideas and what flavors you would create with the Carnation Breakfast Essentials? Leave me a comment below, I can’t wait to hear from you.

I have made my own pumpkin pie spice or you can get all those spices mixed already at the store. I shake it on my latte every morning! Now I will be putting it in my smoothies!

It’s the canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) they sell it at every grocery store sometimes in a carton like Tetrapak or make your own out of fresh pumpkins, boil them puree them and keep in the fridge to use.

Yes they do, depending on the flavor vanilla and chocolate had 18g/19g each, hope that helps.

I was drooling until I read “banana”. Is there any way around that?

Maybe you can use sweetened frozen almond milk ice cubes instead of bananas?

I think that is a great idea, you could also leave the banana out and see how it turns out, maybe add extra ice to thicken it??
