Do you have a little one that is going to Kindergarten soon? This book would be a lot of fun for you; but this book isn’t just for little ones starting Kindergarten, it’s a lot of fun for everyone.
Rufus Goes to School is a story about a little Pig that loves to look at his books, he studies all the pictures, but he can’t read. One day he decided that he needs to go to school so he can learn how to read his book. There was just one small problem… The principal said “NO pigs in School!!”
Rufus Leroy Williams III really, really, REALLY wants to learn to read. He’s ready for Kindergarten. He even has a brand-new backpack! But there’s a small problem: Rufus is a pig! Since the principal is very strict with her decision “No pigs in school”, Rufus has to come up with a plan to convince the principal that he has what it takes to join the class.
This is a funny, inspiring story about one very tiny pig with one very BIG DREAM. We fell in love with this book the minute it arrived. The pictures are beautifully illustrated by Valeri Gorbachev in a colorful and kid friendly way. Love the pictures and the story written by Kim T. Griswell goes beautifully with the pictures. Short sentences that even the early readers could try to read and will keep the kids attention span. I’m impressed with the way this book tells the story and brings a wonderful lesson across to the children.
This book will teach your little ones to never give up and follow your dream, you are never too big or too little for anything, don’t let others tell you different!
This book has been a favorite in our home at bedtime and especially now with Kindergarten around the corner, this book has helped my Princess understand that she is ready for Kindergarten, too and she can face whatever is ahead of her and no fear, she will be able to learn along the way.

That is my favorite kind of book – a big hardcover picture book. I will have to look at my favorite book store for this to share with my nephew who is going off to kindergarten this year. I’m going to miss him during the day. We have daytime ‘dates’ and now he’ll be in school all day.

This looks like such a cute book. I bet my daughter would love it, because one of her favorite stories is ‘If You Give a Pig a Pancake.’ We must have read it a hundred times, so a new pig book would be fun.
