Say Hello to the Strawberry Season in Florida with a Strawberry Parfait #Recipe

February 24, 2014 By Melanie Roberts 21 Comments

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Fresh From Florida for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

This is my favorite time of the year, Strawberry Season! This is one season why I love to live in Florida, in Germany we had to wait all the way till June and before you knew it, Strawberry Season was over. No fun at all, but here in Florida we even have our very own Strawberry Festival with Strawberry Queen, Strawberry Shortcake and lots of other goodies. Florida takes the Strawberry season serious and we know how to party.

You can check out the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, you will not be disappointed, we go every year and each year it gets bigger and better, as if that would even be possible. But in case you just can’t make it down to Florida during Strawberry Season, be sure to grab a few of the delicious berries and create a delicious dessert for your family, close your eyes and imagine you are down in Florida.

Florida Strawberry Parfait

This is what you need:

  • 2 cups fresh Florida strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced
  • 8 ounces low fat cream cheese, whipped
  • 2 tablespoons natural Florida sugar
  • 1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
  • 4 graham crackers, crushed
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint for garnish

This is how to make it:
In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine whipped cream cheese, sugar and lemon juice. Fold the yogurt into the cream cheese mixture.  In four wide mouth glasses, evenly layer cream cheese mixture, strawberries and crushed graham crackers. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint. Serve chilled ~ Enjoy!

For many more delicious recipes with Strawberries, be sure to visit Fresh From Florida and see what other yumminess you can create for your family. There is even a Facebook page that you can friend and follow, lots of action right now with Strawberry Season in full swing, you don’t want to miss it.

What is your favorite Strawberry recipe? Would love to hear your tips and ideas and what your family loves for you to dish up.

That looks so delicious and I’m so jealous you all get fresh strawberries already!! I still have to wait a few months. My favorite way to enjoy them is to just enjoy them when they are fresh picked, but my family loves strawberry short cake and strawberry pretzel cake, yum!

I cannot believe you already have fresh strawberries. I am certainly jealous. It will be a few months before we have any. When I drop in for dinner you can make me one of these. 🙂

I grew up in Florida and we lived just a few miles from a strawberry farm. I can still remember how the smell would drift over and make your mouth water. Now we’re up North so we buy as many strawberries as we can. I could eat them all day!
