I love to scrapbook my families life; I started to scrapbook when my now Teen was just born and I have created many albums, pages and layouts over the past 15 years. Some I love, some just okay; but I love to look at them and treasure all my books. Over the past few years I found products that I love and can’t scrap without and some products that I just didn’t care for.
I want to share my love of scrapbooking with all of you to see that it really isn’t that difficult to create wonderful memories of your family. One of my favorite things to do is a Theme book.
They are quick, and wonderful memories. I love to use 8×8 or 9×9 chipboard albums and transform them into a piece of art. These chipboard albums are really not that expensive, anywhere from $2 and up, depending on size and shape. This Album, I created for my baby Girl when we found out we were pregnant. I bought 4 packs of these Bo Bunny 9×9 Chip Board pages, each pack has 6 pages and retails for about $3.99, so for $16 I had 24 pages ( 48 scrapbook pages back and front), that I can decorate anyway I want for my Baby Girl.
I also got at Staples some Binder hooks, very cheap like under a buck for a set of two and my album was done and ready to be scrapbed. I included in the Album pictures, poems, feelings, Ultrasound, anything about the baby from the first month through Delivery, Baby Shower, Daddy’s little Girl, Mommies Sweetheart, All the babies first from First tooth to First Christmas as well as one page per month after the baby was born till her First Birthday.
Since the albums is only 9×9 you can add as much or as little as you like, one pic will even be perfect and a few stickers and one page is done. Very simple, but a lot of fun and something you can enjoy over and over.
I love to add pictures to my album, and the 9×9 is a wonderful size, I love that it’s not too tinny and not too big like the 12×12 page size. The one thing I wish I had more space for pictures; that’s when I get creative and make my own little photo books out of scrapbook paper.
Take 3 or 4 scrapbook papers, cut each into 5×7 or 4.5 x6.5 size and glue your picture on each scrapbook piece that you just cut, once all pictures have their backing, punch hole the top with 2 or 3 wholes insert some pretty ribbon or brats to hold your picture booklet together, now in an instant you added 6 or 8 ( you can add more or less) pictures to your page without your page looking cluttered… That is one of my favorite techniques, I create pockets and picture books in different sizes and add them to my layout…
So simple, yet powerful memory. All you have to do now is figure out what scrapbook papers and stickers or embellishments you want to add and you are good to go.
This album isn’t just for Babies, you can create any theme you like, how about All About Me or a wedding Album, Dog Album, Family Album or even a Album all about where you grew up…. Just think the memories you can preserve and pass along to your kids and their kids…..

My belief on scrapbooking is that it is only limited by one’s imagination. Your imagination has led your into wonderful ideas that are cheap and easy to use and allows you the full run of your creativity. I think the chipboard albums are great idea. Thanks so much for sharing these tips and ideas.

My children have been keeping their own scrapbooks for years.
They fill it with stubs and memories of places that we go, where they have been in school, pictures of friends etc.
To me it will be great for them to look back in when they are adults and share with their children.
