Simple Summer dinners with the new 101 Farmhouse Favorites from Gooseberry Patch #Recipe

Summer, Sun and Fun are upon us and who wants to spend all day in the kitchen to whip up a delicious dinner? I know I don’t and thanks to Gooseberry Patch and their amazing recipes it will be a breeze to create dinner in no time.

The 101 Farmhouse Favorites is one of our favorite books as well. I love that every single recipe is featured with a full color photo, love that! Besides the full color photo, each recipe comes from Mom’s like you and me, or aunts and grandparents. These recipes are tested in kitchens that cook for their loved ones and each dinner has been enjoyed over and over; I love that each recipe also has a little story to tell.

The 101 Farmhouse Favorites has well, like the names says it 101 recipes from Breakfast ideas to Salad and Soups, Family Dinner favorites to Blue Ribbon Desserts and my favorite section Classic Country Canning. LOVE that this book includes canning; not many recipe books offer that as part of an entire collection. That’s what makes Gooseberry patch and their 101 Farmhouse Favorites unique and special and a MUST in your kitchen.

The 101 Farmhouse Favorites would make a great wedding gift, the bride to be will be able to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner all with the same book and impress the new hubby with her home-style cooking… OR.. hubby could impress the bride…..lol. But no matter who will cook dinner, it sure will be a hit and I know my copy of this book has finger prints, BBQ prints and cookie dough all over it, I will not miss it again in my kitchen. My little bible I call it… ask hubby, he’ll roll his eyes…lol…

Since it has been so hot in Central Florida and everyone is out of school and 4th of July is just around the corner, too. I decided to dish up a simple, yet delicious Pasta Salad with our steak. Hubby loves to use the grill and making a simple pasta salad takes no time and won’t heat up the kitchen, but will give you a satisfying dinner.

Tomato-Garbanzo Salad

This is what you need:

(We had to modify the recipe a bit, I do not like celery, my Teen is allergic to onions, you can add them or leave them out if you like, you can also add other veggies like cucumbers or carrots…. )

Simple as that…. can’t get any easier and more flavor full as this. Best part, you can prepare it ahead of time and let it sit; when dinner rolls around you are ready to pull it out and enjoy your BBQ with the family. We served our Tomato-Garbanzo Salad with Pork Chops and garlic Bread, but the combinations are endless from beef burgers to chicken breasts, whatever your heart desires, the Tomato Garbanzo Salad will be a great fit.
