Simple Trick or Treat Teacher Gift #Craft idea

October 13, 2013 By Melanie Roberts 21 Comments

We love to surprise our teachers with a little Trick or Treat gift and always try to keep it simple yet show our appreciation. This year our craft was soo simple, but turned out kind of cute. You can make this with your little ones and they can help you all the way.

These would also be cute crafts for a surprise treat for grandma or even your neighbors. I bought my glass vases  at Hobby Lobby for a buck and  the Spray paint the only place I was able to find frosted paint was at Lowes of all places. Walmart, Michaels and no other craft store had any in stock nor a place for them, Lowes had ton and it was only like $4 a can.

I picked up a few bags of candy at Walmart and the rest was hanging out at the house already. Really was simple and I used painters tape for the face; stuck it down and removed after the frosted glass was dry.

The frosted glass spray paint was super easy to apply and dried within minutes; I had the jars done in oh 30 minutes or so.  These would also be cute for Christmas gifts if you leave the face off and maybe add a Christmas tree cutout… the possibilities are endless…. and I know the gifts will be appreciated, yet small but they sure come from the heart.

I love this idea! It actually sounds like even I could do this–great for small thank you and birthday gifts which is probably what I would use it for.

As a teacher, I can honestly say I would love this! I still have some of the handmade things my students gave me from my first year of teaching, and whenever I see them, I always think back on that student. And teachers can always use a sugar buzz to help rejuvenate their energy towards the end of a long day, so the candy is always welcome! 😉

These are just too cute and so easy too! It is hard to find great items for teachers and not go broke at the same time. I have never seen this paint before but will have to be on the lookout for it. I can think of so may uses for it!

That is adorable, Melanie! You could make that for all the holidays with very little variation. I think they would be cute candle holders too.

I love how easy these are to make and how cute they came out. It’s amazing what some frosted glass spray can do. Those are the best Halloween candies to include and to give out, by the way.
