Skate into Summer with the new Heelys {Review & Giveaway}

If you are a mom of a Tween or even teen you are probly all too familiar with the name “Heelys”. My Teen just thought they where the coolest thing when they came out back in ohhh 2000 or so…. I remember my now Teen crying for days that he was the ONLY kid in town that did not have Heelys and I had no clue what he was talking about; after all he was like 5… would he really need whatever Heelys are?

Back then I broke down and yes gave in and bought him his very first pair of Heelys; I wish I had pictures of that moment now to show you guys, he was the “coolest” kid in town and went everywhere with his Heelys. Now over 10 years later, the name Heelys is well known in the kids community as well as with Mom’s and Dad’s. Heelys keeps working on new products, improving older products and safety for everyone involved.

It was just a matter of time till my now 4 year old Princess found out about Heelys; she came home from Pre-K one day and said the words” Mom… I’m the LAST person in the world that doesn’t have Heelys, everyone in my class has them.” This time I was a more prepared and knew exactly what she was talking about. I didn’t really think they where for 4 year olds and girls to boot, but looking around the Heelys website sure changed my view. The products are not at all what they used to be in the beginning; they have girly girl colors with sparkles and lights and have boy colors with lights and each shoe has now two, yes 2(!!) wheels for a better balance and safety reason; the wheels are also removable so the kids won’t skate through school if you don’t want them to. The shoes look just like any other pair of sneakers if the wheels are removed, stylish and hip and every kid will love them; the extra fun starts when the wheels are popped in and the skating begins.

I loved the new styles and the 2 wheel concept and caved in; yes.. I know , I’m a sucker… first my Teen, then the tween and well, we have to keep the tradition alive, now the Princess.

I let her pick out the pair of Heelys that she liked and she decided on the brand new HX2 Blossom; The Blossom’s flower design lights up as you walk (or skate…), making sure everyone notices you’re wearing the best of the best.

I soo want a pair that sparkles and lights up, too… wish my Princess would have the same shoe size as me already :0).

As far as I can tell, Heelys come in sizes 12 Kids and go all the way to size 12 adult; what a range…LOVE it! They also retail for $29.99 and up, depending on the shoe style and product. Making them affordable for just about every Mom & Dad and making every kid be the “COOL” kid on the block.

Another great thing about the Heelys HX2; once your little one mastered the Heelys with the 2 wheels, you can pop one wheel out and they can practice to master Heelys like a Pro with just one Wheel.. how super cool is that. Replacement wheels are also available for purchase, so no worries if the wheels wear out before the shoes will…..:0)
