SodaStream Review

October 12, 2010 By Melanie Roberts 20 Comments

I was given the opportunity to review this awesome cool product, that the whole Family will love. Back at home in Germany we had a “Soda Maker” and I loved it, when I left I was unable to take it to the USA and had to leave it behind, well that was mhhh 14 years ago. I had been thinking about a Soda Machine for a few years now and was unable to find one. I couldn’t believe that we had this in Germany for soo many years and no one has it here?? Well finally I found one and I was even more excited to do a review for the company called “SODASTREAM“. Well when our UPS guy showed up at the door I got this text at my office “What is it can we open it”??.. Everyone at the house was couries to know what it is… Once I got home ( and no I would not allow for anyone to sneek a peek at the machine before I got there)… It was almost like christmas .. I was soo excited, I finally after 14 years was able to make Soda again and this time with my very own. We just had to test it right away… well lets get it all unpacked and hoock this thing up and see how long it takes…

Okay Box is open and within a few minutes we had everything on the counter and the machine was ready to roll…wait a minute, what ?? It can’t be that easy, there has to be more to it?? … Guess not, set the machine on the counter install the Carbonator and the Machine is ready waiting for you to make your soda ( NO batteries or electric needed,.. how cool is that).. How quick and awesome is that??

I do have a funny story that I wish I had a video to show on.. it was hilarious. Now ya all know I have a Teen and a Tween and a Toddler, they all were excited to get this machine going, the Teen installed the Carbonator Bottle and the tween picked the Flavor (coke), after the Teen installed the Carbonator and I was ready to make the first push, Teen and Tween running out of the kitchen into the dinning room, both hiding behind table and chairs and covering their faces… with every push they kept yelling, STOP MOM YOU ARE GONNA BLOW THE HOUSE UP…. it was a sight to see… and me btw sitting directly next to the machine.. yup who is the wussy in our house..lol.. Teen and Tween were worried for their life that I  would blow them up with the carbonator attached…you should have been there…. 🙂

Okay back to the product, you are all set up and ready to add water, just regular cold tap (or filtered) water and attach to your machine. Push the button till you hear a loud buzzing sound ( about 10 pushes) and repeat if you like more fizz… Once you are done with adding bubbles ( carbonation is the fancy word) to the water, remove from the machine and add your flavor of choice. Shake Bottle and your drink is ready to be enjoyed.

Each Flavor bottle will make 12 Liter of  Carbonated Beverage and runs for about $4.99 and up, you can purchase the Flavors  or the Machine and any other products to go along with HERE or at Kohls and Bed Bath and Beyond Stores ( the local stores do not sell the machine but the Flavoring and the carbonator Bottles)

That’s it, simple as pie… each Carbonator will make 60 Liters or Bubbly water ( carbonated water..lol) so you no longer have to lug all those Bottles from the grocery store home and you can add as much carbonation or as little as you like along with the flavoring that you like… Sooo Soocool.. what a cool product. Thank you SodaStream for allowing me to review this AWESOME product.

Check out SodaStream for additional information and flavors.

SodaStream did  provide me with the products pictured above for my review;  No other compensation was received.  All opinions are 100 % my own.

I’ve had my Soda Stream for almost a year now. It’s so easy to use and I really like the ginger ale. I don’t drink a lot of pop so the original carbonater is still going. What ever you do DO NOT ADD FLAVORING BEFORE CARBONATING. You will get Mount Vesuvius of sticky pop all over.

I love, love, love my Soda Stream. No more cans or bottles all over the house, and I love that the soda mix is made with Splenda instead of aspertame.

I’ve been reading great reviews of Soda Stream, so it’s clearly a good product. I think I’d make up my own syrup mix, though, because I don’t like the additives in the mixes they offer.

My husband and I have been wanting to try a Soda Stream for quite a while now.
I love that they have so many flavor options to choose from.
And to me it seems as if it would be a more economical choice for our family.

I’ve been giving some serious thought to getting one of these as a gift for my son. I don’t drink much soda myself but I think he would really enjoy it.

I have always wanted one of these since they first came out! Seen it at a restaurant show for the first time. Amazing! Now it’s even better because their are more varieties of drink mixes and such.
