Spin into Action with Arm and Hammer #SpinbrushCFK #Cbias ~ We are delivering pretty Smiles

August 1, 2012 By Melanie Roberts 7 Comments

A few weeks ago, we introduced you to our Simple Service project and now since we are at the end of July, I wanted to give you an update real quick. If you remember, our assignment for the month of July was to collect all kind of Dental Hygiene products and find a place to help children in need. That’s where Champions for Kids and the SpinBrush Arm & Hammer project came in play.

This is what our donation box looked like at the beginning of July when we started our project, we purchased a few super cool Spinbrushes at Walmart, they are actually super cool and are very affordable, around $7-$8 each, just a  small price to pay to keep those pearly whites nice and sparkly.

We put the word out to Family and Friends about collecting Dental products and Donating them to a local group called Volunteers in Medicine, right here in our Central Florida Community. It didn’t take long at all and my friends started to ask what the Champions for Kids project is and this is what I told each and everyone.

Champions for Kids is changing the way the world helps children. No Child should EVER go to school hungry, cold or without the resources they need to thrive. In America, 16.8 million children do, so there is a lot of work for all of us, simple people like you and I, to do. Champions for Kids is an amazing program with wonderful sponsors and Partners like Arm & Hammer and their Spinbrushe; they work to ensure all children have the resources they need to thrive. The goal is to mobile 20 Million people ( just like Mom’s, dad’s, grandparents, anyone we can get the word out to) by 2020 ….

I love being part of Champions for Kids and finding new ways to help our community and get my kids involved and learn the value of giving. So once we had all our Family and Friends on board our box filled up quickly and we got super excited to take it to our donation place of choice the other day. The Tween *soon to be Teen….whohooo) and I drove down to the offices for Volunteers in Medicine to make our donation in person; Volunteers are always needed there and they where very surprised about the HUGE box of Dental products that we where able to collect. *Due to privacy reasons, I wasn’t allowed to take any pictures on the grounds at all…-Sorry*

Check out what our Donation Box looked like after just a  few days and spreading the word….. See, it can be that SIMPLE!

Are you impressed? I know I’m, but this picture doesn’t really show how big the box was, below is a better angle that shows ALL the things we collected…. SUPER COOL and very very proud to have amazing friends and Family that help out in a moments notice without even asking “What is in it for me”

#SpinbrushCFK 3

This will help a lot of little boys and girls in our community to keep their teeth nice and healthy for a long time. My Tween was very proud taking the box to the reception desk and dropping it off; he was super excited to finally be able to help and do something of his own, usually he’s always too little or not old enough, but helping out and volunteering doesn’t have any rules, but is very rewarding in the end!

#SpinbrushCFK

We want you to get involved, too, as you can see, it doesn’t take much time, money or effort, but will help a little boy or girl  tremendous and may change a life. So, be sure to get more information about the amazing Champions for Kids campaign and you can also follow on Facebook or Twitter to stay up to date with the newest campaign, ideas or ways to help those in need. Also, don’t forget to check out Arm and Hammer on how to keep those pretties for a long time…..they have a Facebook page as well as a Twitter page…. Lots of fun you don’t want to miss there.

P.s. We’ve also created a Google Plus Album about our Shopping trip to Walmart, I hope you will check it out…..:0)

I think this was a great project and I love you donated tooth brushes. Kids are always so excited to get new ones and what better way to start school then with a new toothbrush.
