It’s time again to team up with one of our all time favorite campaigns, Champions for Kids. As in previous month, this month we agreed to spread the word about helping children and families in our community and for July Arm and Hammer is a proud partner to raise Dental health across America.
Dental health is a very big issue for my family; growing up in Germany my mom and dad didn’t really care about our teeth; I don’t even remember that I had a tooth brush as a little girl and vaguely remember one tooth brush that I had when I was about 13 and I must have used it for years. Dental health wasn’t something anyone cared about. Unfortunately, when I was a toddler all of my teeth where completely black, well, the few that I had left; it wasn’t a pretty picture and I remember telling myself that my children will NEVER EVER be in the same boat.
I’m very adamant about switching toothbrushes, having extras on hand, lots of brushing in the morning, after meals and before bedtime is a MUST in our home; unfortunately the message hasn’t come across to everyone and some children in our very own community aren’t as fortuned, that’s why I want to help out and donate Toothbrushes and dental products to a local program here in town called “Volunteers in Medicine”; the program is for families that can’t afford medical or dental insurance/care and our amazing doctors and dentists and community members volunteer their time, money and equipment to help those in need; I think donating our Dental products to this organization would make sure that every child in our community that is in need will be able to get a new tooth brush, or toothpaste; and not go like myself, for years without a new clean toothbrush!
We set off to Walmart a few days ago and purchased some brand new super cool Arm and Hammer Spinbrushes for our Donation box, but I had to get a few for my own monkey’s, they sure would love a brand new Spinning brush. Walmart had a huge selection not only on Arm and Hammer products, but a lot of Dental Hygiene products for every age group; I was very impressed and grabbed a few items to add to my donation box before we left.
We have a goal to fill our box with lots of Toothbrushes and Dental hygiene products within the next few weeks and then have them handed over to the Volunteers in Medicine in our local community; they know exactly who is in need of our donation and will make sure they get into the right hands. I’m super excited and have my entire family and friends involved in collecting Toothbrushes for our project.
Be sure to come back in a few weeks to see how much we where able to collect for our donation. In the meantime, head over to Champions for Kids website, to get familiar with the project and see how simple it is to help children in your very own community. You can also follow Champion for Kids on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with all the amazing projects that are being offered and challenged each and every month. Also, don’t forget to check out this month’s amazing partner Arm and Hammer on the Web, but you can also follow on Facebook and Twitter to hear the latest and greatest from Arm and Hammer.
P.s. We’ve also created a Google Plus Album about our Shopping trip to Walmart, I hope you will check it out…..:0)
