It’s summer, sun and fun here in sunny Florida and not only is it hot for me, but my peanut gallery needs to stay well during the dog days of summer, too. I decided this would be a great time to chat about pet safety and good reminders, just in case you forgot. Do you have fur babies in your family?
5 tips to keep the fur babies safe this summer
-
Don’t leave your fur babies in a hot car, or any car if you are not in it for that matter! I know, this should be a given or common sense, but I wanted to give you another reminder this year. There are way too many fur babies that die from being left in a hot car, it gets very very hot, so please leave your babies at home if you can’t take them inside the store with you.

Buy high quality dog treats. Most of my readers know that I’m big on quality, Made in the USA with only USA-sourced protein, Real Meat as #1 ingredient, "Real food-inspired" and No artificial flavors or fillers with natural ingredients treats. There are many reasons one is, I trust USA made treats and our favorite are the new Nudges® Grillers or Nudges® Sizzlers. Perfect for my entire Peanut Gallery and they already know the bag as soon as I walk in the door. Best part, I can pick them up during my weekly Walmart grocery trips and they are very affordable, too. The Nudges® Grillers come in Chicken and Steak flavor and the Nudges® Sizzlers come in Chicken & Bacon or Beef & Cheese. each of my Peanut Gallery babies has their very own favorite, but all three love the chicken, no matter if Sizzler or Grillers. if I bring chicken I’m the coolest mom on the block!

Keep fresh water available at all times and plenty of it! Just like we need to stay hydrated during the dog days of summer, our fur babies need to stay hydrated as well. Fresh, clean drinking water is very important to keep your fur babies happy and healthy all year long. Invest in those gallon water dispensers, they work wonders. We love them and have a few all over the house and yard.
-
Moderation is key. Treats are a great way to train your fur babies, spoil them or tell them how great they did, but feeding your treats whether it be Nudges® Grillers or Nudges® Sizzlers, moderation is key. Don’t over feed them with Treats, they should just be that TREATS!

Exercise is something that always needs to be on your to do list, too. Take them for a walk, throw a Frisbee or a ball and spend some quality time outside on a daily basis. Just like us humans we need exercise, your fur babies needs that as well. That’s a great way to keep your fur baby active and possible prevention of health issues down the road.

Your dogs are so sweet! I’m especially drawn to your smiling beagle, because our dog Otis is a beagle mix. Otis has come to believe that he deserves a treat every time he comes back indoors, so it’s good to know about these made-in-the-USA treats. Thanks for your review.
