It’s this time of the year where everyone is getting sick, whether it be a cold, the flu or allergies it sure isn’t fun. We always try to do the basics at home like wash your hands often, sanitize the counters and sneeze into our elbows; but while the kids are at school, it’s hard to control what they do and more often than not they will bring home some kind of bug that will have you scrambling for some Kleenex tissues and medication.
This year I decided to create a fun gift box for our Pre-K teachers with my Teen and the Princess so they can share some “Healthy” with their classmates and maybe, just maybe eliminate some of the germs being passed, keeping everyone healthy all season long.
I headed to Walmart the other night and picked up a few things that I thought would be great for the teachers to receive, along with a little something for the teachers themselves. They always do an amazing job with our kids and sure deserve a little “THANKY YOU”.
As I walked the aisles at Walmart, I found in the paper aisle some Kleenex packages with a $4 Vudu.com movie code attached. How super cool is that. If you are sick you always need Kleenex and a FREE movie will make the time pass that much quicker and get you healthy faster as well. LOVE IT!!!
I was all set with lots of things to keep the kids healthy at school, but I also wanted a fun way to present it to the teachers. I kind of wanted to create some memories that the kids will remember years to come.
We first put together the teacher gifts; Simple, even a 4 year old was able to do it. I used some fun cups that I picked up at Walmart and we stuffed them with Hershey Kisses, cocoa powder and a gift card; toped it with some ornaments and a simple bow… Voila…. Teachers are soo gonna love it and your little one was able to create it all by herself.
Our next task was to get the “Stay Healthy” Donations ready. My Princess had a blast and stuffed the stockings with soap, sanitizer and wipes.
But that wasn’t all; Remember our Kleenex boxes that we bought? I had something special in mind, being the scrapbook queen that I’m, we had to have some fun decorating the boxes and making them look a lot like Christmas; something fun the kids can do and the kids in class will love to grab a tissue.
I added fun scrapbook paper on each side of the Kleenex box and then gave the kids all kind of Christmas embellishments, stickers and ribbon, told them to just have fun!
What a fun memory they will have of decorating their Kleenex boxes, something easy, yet so different and it was a fun family craft that everyone can do with very little effort. I love the decorated boxes; especially since I’m a Kleenex freak, so I’m being told by my kids. I have a Kleenex box in every room of the house and even a box or two in the car; you never know when Kleenex is needed to get the job done. We laugh at it all the time. So we have fond memories of Kleenex already and now we can add the fun decorated boxes to our list.
I think this will be a new Christmas tradition for us to decorate Kleenex boxes for the house and to donate to people in need as well. They are so cute and so much fun.
Once we had all our Kleenex boxes ready to go and all the other goodies are stored away in a fun wrapped box, it was time to relax; I decided to let the kids grab one of the Vudu.com movie codes to have some more fun family time together, the other code will be safely stored away in case we need it with a sick little one, you know that will come in handy then.
We love Vudu.com and if you haven’t heard of it, be sure to check it out online. It’s simple and easy to use with lots of brand new movies to choose from. We decided on “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”.
We had a fun family day during this Advent Season and I can’t wait to make it all again next year; a wonderful tradition that the kids will remember for years to come. So be sure to grab your Kleenex, in case you need them and have a Happy Holiday Season with your loved ones as well.
For more information about the $4.00 Vudu.com movie coupon, exclusively on the Kleenex packages and only available at a Walmart near you, head over to Walmart.com or follow Kleenex on Facebook. I’ve also created a Google Plus Story with lots of pictures from our shopping trip and family time at home, creating the Donation boxes for the teachers, be sure to check it out.
Happy Holidays … enjoy your Family!!

I’m a Kleenex freak, too, I guess as I have them in every room and in the car. My purse, too! Along with Boogie Wipes for times when a moist wipe is better. What a great idea for the teacher gifts and love the family time you incorporated into wrapping!
