Hard to believe but the last few weeks we’ve been talking about Summer. I can’t believe we are a few short weeks away from the kids being out of school for the summer and trying to keep them entertained the entire time. Lucky for us we finished our pool construction just in time. You know where you will find us this year. We won’t be going on a big trip at all, we just will stay put in our own backyard and enjoy the sun, the Florida heat and the pool.

Do you remember back in the 90’s (I know, I’m totally dating myself) there was this Coca Cola Summer song and I can’t remember the name for the life of me, but I can sing the song and it’s memories like these that will stick with you forever.

I hope I can create summertime memories with my kids this year hanging out at the pool and sharing a coke. Thanks to the Walgreens deal it will be an easy task for me. Hope my kids will enjoy it as much as I will.

Ready for Pool Fun

1. Have lots of towels on hand! That’s a rule I’m still adjusting to. I always thought we had enough towels however since the pool is in our yard we can not keep the towels in the closet. I run out within hours. Walgreens has an awesome selection incase you need a few extra, you will thank me later!
2. Lots of drinks: Kids need to stay hydrated in the hot sun. Don’t forget to grab lots of water bottles and soda for your next pool party. Just in case you run low, Walgreens stocks lots of drinks for you. 
3. Snacks: From finger food like Ants on a log to chips and dip, snacks are always a welcome sight at any pool party. Dish up your kids favorite snack ideas and share plenty. I don’t know about you, but if I swim I get hungry. Eat up and when you run low… You already know that Walgreens has plenty in stock you won’t starve!
4. Pool/Water toys are also a big MUST. The more the merrier, no idea why but kids love them. Get a ball, some water tubes or basketball hoops and your kids will be entertained for hours. Trust me, they will never want to get out of the pool (and yes… Walgreens has those, too…LOL)
5. Sun lotion, Sun lotion, Sun lotion… Is a MUST, stock up and reapply often to keep your skin healthy and tanned this summer.

These are just a few of the tips that I have to make your pool party/summer fun a success anytime with anyone. You will be the “It” place in the neighborhood this year! Enjoy your backyard again and share it with all your friends. Share a Coke and everyone will be happy and will beg you for the next pool party before they leave to go home.
