I love my German pancakes, and yes they only have a few ingredients but it takes me forever to pan fry each pancake, I make them almost like crepes; my boys and one little girl love my German pancake, but honestly on a Sunday morning I just don’t always feel like standing in the kitchen frying pancakes for an hr and end up with none cause the kids and my husband ate them all before I got one. So I found a recipe and they taste almost as good as my pan fried ones, per my 11 year old, he still prefers my original pancakes, but these take only a few minutes to throw together and let the oven do the rest. It’s also fun for the kids to make, so simple and the best part is the baking it’s such an entertainment and they always come out different… take a look
German Pancakes
Ingredients
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
6 eggs, lightly beaten
1/8 teaspoon salt
I also added Cinnamon and Vanilla Extract, I eyeball this on your taste…
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Melt butter in a medium baking dish
- In a medium bowl, mix flour, milk, eggs, sugar and salt. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake on center rack in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden brown.
This is the pancake going into the oven
and this is the Masterpiece like my son calls it, when it is done.
It will look different every time you make this, my kid love to watch thru the oven glass to see what shape it took on this time…:-) enjoy
P.s. Sorry for the weired Post I been playing with this for an hr on my screen it looks the way I want it and when I post it, it does what it wants…. 🙁
