Ohh these are my all time favorite…:-) My grandma always made these for me when I was little and I it always brings back memories…. Apple Fritters with vanilla Sauce…mhhhh too bad I can’t find my German vanilla sauce here so I have to do without, but warm Vanilla Pudding will do, too , but here is something yummy for you guys especially now with fall and lots of apples around
German Apple Fritters
You Need:
(I always adjust the flour and milk by making a fairly think “dough” but yet thin enough that it runs off the spoon when you hold it up.. so it’s hard to say how much, I kind of had to guestimate here, but can’t go wrong)
1 1/2 cup of flour
1 1/14 cup of milk
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
2 Table Spoon sugar
4 Eggs
4 Apples
How to make it :
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and set aside; Core your apples and cut in thicker slices ; Preheat some oil in a frying pan, add the batter and put one apple slice on top of each batter circle, fry till nice and golden and flip to for the other side to get nice and golden
Repeat this for each fritter once they are done.. The apple is soft inside and the pancake is crunchy on the outside.. serve with Vanilla Pudding or Powder sugar… soo yummy
ENJOY…. I know I will…

Good stuff!!! My mom made these for us when we were young. ( meaning well into our thirties). She is gone now and I will use this recipe to make them for my daughter. Thanks.
