Sunday Brunch … Sausage Quiche & Apple tarts

November 28, 2010 By Melanie Roberts Leave a Comment

It’s 1st Advent and this means family time. It also means busy time with the Holidays approaching. I decided on a simple recipe for Sunday Brunch that you guys can even make for parties or on Christmas morning.

This can be made ahead 3 days prior or can be frozen up to a month; and it’s so simple.

Once I finished the Sausage Quiche I had plenty of Pie crust and I decided to make desert and whipped up some Apple tarts….So this is a 2 for 1 idea… enjoy 🙂

This is what you need for the sausage quiche :

  1. 1 roll of sausage ( mild, medium or hot, whatever you like)
  2. 1 onion, diced
  3. 1 pack pie crust ( 2 in a pack)
  4. mushrooms (and/ or bell peppers)
  5. 2-3 eggs
  6. 1 pack of cheese

How to make it:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Take a glass or something round and cut circles out of the Pie crust, line them in a sprayed muffin/cupcake pan
  3. Brown your sausage, add onions and mushroom
  4. Once the mixture is cooked let cool for a few minutes
  5. Add cheese and the eggs, mix up well
  6. fill mixture in your prepared pie crust
  7. bake for about 15-20 min ( keep an eye on it, I lost track of time)

Here is how to make the Apple tarts:

You Need:

  1. Pie crust
  2. Apples
  3. Cinnamon
  4. Sugar
  5. Butter

  1. peel and slice apples
  2. add Cinnamon and sugar over the apples, mix well
  3. fill apple mixture in pie crust muffin/ cupcake pans
  4. sprinkle some sugar over the mix add a teaspoon of butter
  5. if you have some extra pie crust left cut it in strips and add it over the apple tart like on a “big” apple pie
  6. bake on 350F for 15-20 min ( I added a little more butter 1/2 way through) .. enjoy…
