This is a guest post by Megan from Publix Coupon Queen
This week’s topic will be short but I think it is a necessary one.As a couponer I highly recommend watching the register as your cashier scans things through.
Before I continue:
I am not saying cashiers are bad. I am not saying they are trying to cheat you. I am not saying they are out to get you.
Moving on.
I am telling you to watch your register because your cashier is human. He/She may make a mistake. The computer may make a mistake. You may have grabbed the wrong size.
What Should I Watch For?
-
Price – Make sure your items are ringing up correct.
-
Quantity – Make sure the cashier doesn’t accidentally ring up an item twice.
-
Coupons – Make sure all of your coupons have been scanned.
-
Value – Make sure the coupon value is correct as well. Sometimes there are defects in a coupon.
Why Bother?
This will save you money. This will also save you time. You will not walk about spending more than you should have. You will also avoid going to customer service to fix the problems.

Good advice. Many times, special sales might not ring up. I also ALWAYS check my receipt before I leave the store and I let the casheir know in advance if I am here for say…double coupons…..telling her/him that if a coupon doesn’t double, please take that item off my charge.
