Tea Party fit for a Princess and we did the #DoTheDownton all the way ~ check it out and enter a Downton Abbey Tote bag #Giveaway

For days I shared on the blog and on Social Media about the #DoTheDownton virtual Tea Party, not only did I participate in the virtual tea party, which was a lot of fun, I also hosted an actual tea party at home. My boys love tea and I’m a big tea drinker as well, so this one was a simple, yet fun party for us to do.

Of course to a real tea party you need to look the part and we all dressed up for the special event, tiara’s and Monkey suits (that’s the way my kids call the suite ..lol) along with our pinky’s up. It sure was a lot of fun. I picked out a lot of different tea flavors at my last trip to World Market along with a few other accessories for our tea party like an amazing Tea tray, tea cattle and of course, shortbread cookies. You have to have shortbread cookies for a tea party. We did it Downton Abbey style, that’s for sure.

The party was a big hit, my Teens spend a good 4 hours just sitting around the table, sipping tea, talking and enjoying the peace and quiet. It is remarkable what tea will do to you. Give it a try, host your own tea party and see how calm and quiet everyone gets; be sure to Pinky up for the real deal though.

So, the next time you stop by your World Market, be sure to grab a few items for your very own Tea Party and have some fun, whether it be with your closest friends or just a family member, tea will bring everyone together and you will have a blast.

Sweepstake time

Of course, we’ve talked about Downton Abbey for a while and I wanted to remind you to enter the Sweepstake that is currently still running, you can win a grand prize Trip for 2 to London, England (hotel & accommodations), Private Tour of Highclere Castle, Visit the set of Downton Abbey and a $1,000 World Market gift card; OR one of three first prizes: $500 World Market gift card. For more information about this amazing Sweepstakes be sure to visit World Markets Sweepstakes page

We are just having a blast with Downton Abbey and can’t wait for the 4th Season to start; till then we will hold on tight to our tea cups, pinky up of course and watch re-runs on Netflix. Soo much fun; if you haven’t checked out Downton Abbey, be sure to visit PBS for a show schedule; the next Season starts January 2014.

Love your tea party! Such great pics, looks like you all had a lot of fun! What a great idea. I need to do this with my sons, I be they’ll love dressing up for the fun of it. My youngest went to high tea with my on a cruise this summer and it was great fun… would love to duplicate that at home, thanks for the inspiration! Also, going to have to head out to World Market, they have the best selection of tea goodies, for sure!

Looks like you had a wonderful time. I’ll remember this when Harper (who is 14 months old) is old enough to share in a tea party! Gee, I used to have them all the time when I was little, and I used orange peel as the “cookie” (what an imagination I must have had!).
