We all know Teens can be a challenge, lots of issue go with being a Mom of a Teen. Trust me, with two Teens in the home we sure have our share of moods, back talking, knowing it all and smells… OH the smells! Yes… I can smell my teen a mile away even after I tell them wash your hair, wash your feet, did you really take a shower today?
Is it just me or are you constantly reminding your teen “Take a shower”? Aren’t teen years awesome as a Mom?
One of my boys loves to work out, he spends countless of hours running, exercising at the gym, swimming in the pool and lifting weights. Living in Florida and the sun just aren’t the best environment for a growing teen… can you say SMELL?
It is always a challenge for me to find a body wash that does the trick, smell good, clean, hydrate and well… just gets the job done. I searched through the body wash aisle at Walmart the other day and remember that my husband is an avid Irish Spring user. He has used Irish Spring for as long as we have been together and then some. I decided this may be a great option for my smelly teens. What works for a hard working man every day surely would make my teens smell good, too; Right?
While looking at the Irish Spring body wash and bar of soaps I found a new generation of Irish Spring on the shelf and I knew this had to be good. Irish Spring signature for men. The 3-in-1 Body +hair+face would be the perfect solution for lazy teens that spend countless of hours in the shower, yet never seem to get it all clean. I know… how can that be? You don’t want to go there, trust me!
My Teen kind of looked at me like “Mom… for real, you are telling me to spend more time in the shower…?”. I know, usually I’m the one that hollers “get out, it’s been an hour!”, but if they smell good in the end, why not. It’s a little encouragement in the right direction I hope.
Since my Teen loves to work out at the gym I also decided to put together a short list of MUST haves in the gym bag, and these aren’t just for teens. My hubby loves to work out with the teen every afternoon so I made both of them a fun bag with simple essentials. Keep it simple is my motto! But also keep it clean.
Top 5 items in a gym bag
-
Towels: Make sure there are 203 small hand towels and maybe 1-2 wash cloth in your gym bag; to wipe your face, wipe down equipment’s and wash off after your workout. You can never have too many towels, trust me!
-
A good Body wash: You don’t want to smell waling out of the gym do you? Irish Spring Signature for men would be a great option.
-
Water: Lots of water, add a few bottles to your gym bag for during your workout and after. It is very important to stay hydrated.
-
Protein snack: My guys always need a small snack after working out and they enjoy a protein par or a protein shake, so be sure to add your favorite kind to your bag so you are ready to go.
-
Ear buds: Oh yes, charge that cell phone and plug them ear buds in. Music is very important to stay motivated; no matter if my teen works out at the gym or at the pool at home, his ear buds are always in and he is jamming to his favorite beat. Makes working out that much more fun.
A little tip from Mom: Add a bar of the New Irish Spring Signature soap for men, which is a bigger-cut bar of soap made with natural ingredients with great new scents to the gym shoes. It’s a win win for all, the shoes smell pretty and your fella will always have soap on hand to clean up after a hard workout. Shhh… You don’t have to tell them that there is a reason the soap is in the shoes, just tell them it’s easier to find that way … *smile*… It’s our mom secret.
