Guess who is back from the Volt and swimming in the open sea? Yes… it’s Ariel, the Little Mermaid. I loved watching Ariel when I was little and now that I have my very own red head it was just natural to sit down and watch Ariel for our Family Movie night. My Princess loved it. She had never seen the movie and couldn’t get over that Sebastian is the same name as her brother’s middle name (well, it’s a German name we had to keep the heritage alive..lol) and she loved that Ariel had the same red hair.
The DVD is wonderful, digitally re-done with love and care and the soundtracks are amazing; we just loved singing along and enjoying an old movie in a new digital age.
If you have never seen Ariel, let me tell you a bit about the movie; Ariel (voiced by Jodi Benson), is a free-spirited mermaid, who is off on the adventure of a lifetime with her best friend, the adorable Flounder (voiced by Jason Marin), and the reggae-singing Caribbean crab Sebastian (voiced by Samuel E. Wright) at her side. But it will take all of her courage and determination to make her dreams come true—and save her father’s beloved kingdom from the sneaky sea witch Ursula (voiced by Pat Carroll).
The new DVD set also includes many special features; check them out:

- @ Disney Animation

It’s hard to say what my all-time favorite Disney movie is as they’ve made so many great movies! The Little Mermaid is my daughter’s though. Will have to pick up a copy of this for my grand daughter for Christmas!

This film is such a timeless classic. It brings back so many happy memories for me of when I saw it for the first time. I’m actually singing Under the Sea as I post this comment.
