The Muppet Christmas Carol will be a Family tradition #Review

The Muppet Christmas Carol

Ahhhh; it’s this time of the year when all the fun and wonderful Christmas movies emerge. Guess what arrived on November 6, the Muppet Christmas Carol 20th Anniversary. I’m soo excited; this movie way back when was a favorite of mine and I had totally forgotten about it till it was re-released a few weeks ago.

I spend last weekend on the couch enjoying this wonderful Christmas movie with my 4 year old Princess and even my Teen’s decided to join us. We had some laughs and giggles and just lots of family fun like I remembered back at home when we all used to watch the Muppets.

And now, a word from Gonzo:
Greetings, holiday movie fans and lovers of culture, I am Gonzo … or perhaps better known to fans of this classic motion picture as literary legend Charles Dickens. Are you ready to laugh, cry, sing, frolic, cavort and enjoy yourself beyond belief!? Well, you’re in luck, because this 20th Anniversary Edition of Disney’s “The Muppet Christmas Carol” is guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit that will stay with you forever—or at least until your Aunt Edna starts complaining that nobody is eating the fruitcake she brought … again!

Available for the first time ever on Blu-ray with high definition sound and picture, so you can enjoy even more of my blue-ness, not to mention the incredible spectacle of Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit, Academy Awardwinner Michael Caine (Best Supporting Actor, 1999, “The Cider House Rules”) as Scrooge, wonderful songs by Oscar winner Paul Williams (Best Original Song, 1976, “Evergreen” from “A Star Is Born”) and, of course, my pal Rizzo the Rat as….well, Rizzo the Rat.

This is a heartwarming and hilarious holiday classic, told as never before by yours truly!  Yule love it!

This release of the Muppet Christmas Carol 20th Anniversary addition also has some pretty cool features.

  • Disney Intermission – Do me a favor and pause the movie and see what happens Smile
  • On the Set – Blooper Reel – This was a funny and favorite in our crazy home; my kids made me rewind it over and over again; the Princess just thought the bloopers where too funny and she cracked up every time. I wasn’t sure what was funnier to watch, the bloopers or my Princess.
  • Frogs, pigs and Humbug: Unwrapping Pepe a Holiday Classic – Experience the in-depth, behind the scenes exercise in controlled chaos as Director Brian Henson, Gonzo and Rizzo explore the making of the film.  This was also a lot of fun to watch, so interesting to explore the behind the scene stuff, I always love it. Makes me feel like I’m part of the movie set; all I need now is my own director chair and I’m there with them. LOVE it.. you don’t want to miss it.
  • Profiles – Gonzo: A portrait of the Artist as a Young Weirdo – Get up close and personal with The Great Gonzo and come away even more focused confused; in this very special look hosted by Pepe the King Prawn.
  • Christmas Around The World – Gonzo and Rizzo discuss Christmas traditions… and Aunt Ruth’s Fruitcake. This was a favorite of mine; I loved hearing them discuss hoe other countries celebrate Christmas. Being from a  different country myself I love to hear other traditions; this was a lot of fun….

There is also a Digital Copy part of the 2-Disc Combo pack, making it super easy for your kids to watch the movie on the go, like your Smartphone, iPad or any other mobile device. I love the digital copy editions to the movies; makes it so convenient and you don’t have to worry about the kids scratching the DVD or loosing it.

Let’s sit down, with your loved ones and enjoy 86 min of fun with the Muppets; this will be a new Thanksgiving tradition in our home, why not make it yours, too.

Where to purchase? You can grab your very own copy of the Muppet Christmas Carol on Amazon.com,Walmart.com or any of your favorite retailer that sells movies/DVD.

Did you love the Muppets growing up? Would love to hear all about it; which one was your favorite??? I’m totally into Kermit.. Isn’t he the cutest frog ever…??

I always loved Fozzie Bear. Wacka Wacka! 🙂 So cute, we’ll have to get this one to watch for the holidays. Will be a great way to introduce my grand-daughter to the Muppets.
