We love Christmas in our house. Christmas is my favorite Holiday, and we like to enjoy lots of books as well. Let me introduce you to The Roof Top Hop , written by Michael Sheahan and Illustrated by Doug Wright..

This Book comes with a Music Cd that has 4 songs recorded by singer/songwriter Michael Sheahan and also an instructional Dance DVD so your little Santa Helper can learn Santa’s Secret Song ” The Roof Top Hop”.

The Pictures in the book are beautiful; I love how Santa looks and the fun part is the DVD has the entire book on the DVD as well so you can pop the DVD in the DVD Player and put the book on the “big” screen and you can read aloud. That what we did and my toddler loved it. She has been asking can I hear it again, please … and now she is trying to learn the The Roof Top Hop .

This book is wonderful for little ones as well as older kids, the instructional DVD however is great for the little ones to watch but to actually learn the dance I think  age 7 and up would do a great job.

I also loved that the DVD includes coloring pages that go along with the book; you can create a full lesson around this fun Santa Book that your kids would truly enjoy this Holiday Season.

I read a review on Amazon where the lady was up sad and she thinks that  her elementary school age children would not be able to learn this dance, and she thinks this is more of a Broadway Musical, I have to disagree.

The steps are demonstrated fairly slow and by all means a 3rd grader will not do the dance 100% perfect I’m sure. But that’s the fun part about this, let the kids try and they will surprise you and I like it a lot more if the kids use their little “weird” dance moves instead of trying for hours to mimic someone. I do think this would be a great Book and DVD/Music set for any child in your home or at school.
