It’s time for a throw back and I decided to pick one game that I always loved and that my kids have enjoyed over the years as well. Do you remember Pay Day? I bet most of us that grew up in the 70’s & 80’s have played this game at some point. I love the way this game teaches how a household works and shows kids that it’s not as easy as opening a checkbook. Money has to be in the account in order to pay bills.
Did you know…. Pay Day is a board game originally made by Parker Brothers (now a subsidiary of Hasbro) in 1975. It was invented by Paul J. Gruen, one of the era’s top board game designers. It was Gruen’s most successful game, outselling Monopoly in its first production year.
I love that the Classic edition is coming back, no batteries, no credit cards and no checkbooks needed. This game is simply the way it was back when. The one thing that hasn’t changed, we all still pay our bills. Electric needs to be paid, Birthdays still come around and why not teach your little ones how everything works in your home with a simple yet fun game that we all learned with as well?
I was super excited and can’t believe that I have a Classic edition in my home and can share great memories with my kids. The game is geared for ages 8 and up and 2-4 players; the nice thing each game lasts about 45 minutes, unlike Monopoly where it could go on for days.
I also love the aspect that you have to pay ALL your bills and see how much money is left; that will help your kids learn and understand the value of money. Money really doesn’t grow on trees.
We are having a blast, so why not check out the Classic Edition of PayDay for your family, they have a website, Facebook and Twitter.
