My German Banana Hazelnut Mocha Delight Coffee Cake is my secret family recipe with a small twist and I’m excited to share it with all of you and to let you know this shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FoundMyDelight #CollectiveBias
Have you seen the calendar lately? Can you believe we are in NOVEMBER? A few more weeks and we all will sit down for our Thanksgiving Meal, having fun with family and friends and say thanks to all the wonderful and amazing things the year has showered us with.
For me, it’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving as well as Christmas are just a few short weeks out and the year will be over. I swear, I did NOT blink. The one thing here in Florida we apparently missed the Fall memo because we are still in the 90’s, hot hot hot and just like it would be in August, sticky. We even spend time out in the pool and not even need a pool heater, how crazy is this?
So I had to bring fall into the home somehow, the pumpkins sitting all over the house and the air conditioning blowing just wasn’t cutting it. I slandered through Walmart the other day enjoying all the holiday merchandise and ignoring the fact that once I step back outside I’m back in “Summer”. I know, most of you are not that lucky and its cold in your neck of the woods. Enjoy it, you have the real fall!
While at Walmart I walked past the Orange Juice and Yogurt section and my favorite International Delight Iced Coffee caught my eyes, sitting right there in the middle of the big breakfast guys. YUP… I said International Delight Iced Coffee and it is now available in the refrigerated tea/juice section at Walmart. AWESOME, love that drink and anything to find it easier is a plus for this busy mom.
Honestly, yeah.. it’s hot in Florida and no Fall in sight so the International Delight Iced Coffee is the perfect drink to cool off, but I drink it all year long. Why wait till Summer to enjoy Coffeehouse taste without the coffeehouse hassle? Yeah I love the Mocha drink even when it’s freezing, trust me we do get hard freezes a few month out of the year, sure go ahead and laugh. It does get cold!!! But I love my International Delight anytime of the year. It’s a little comfort drink to me that I can keep in the fridge, at a fraction of the cost of coffeehouse drinks and is always ready.
So, while I sipped on my last cup the other day I wanted to bring fall into my house as I mentioned earlier, and guess what. YUP… you will love it, I made my grandma’s famous German Banana Hazelnut Mocha Delight Coffee Cake. I will even share the family secret recipe with all of you (just whatever you do don’t tell my grandma, good thing she can not speak English… SHHHH).
Now, wasn’t this super easy, different and sounded delicious? Yeah it smelled like fall in my house for days and paired with my International Delight Iced Coffee, Mocha it was the perfect combination to bring fall into the house and to take my homesickness this time of the year.
I love Hazelnuts and they are amazing in this recipe, but if you like feel free to substitute to any nuts that you have available or like. The Almond Paste however is a MUST, it’s in many German recipes and makes the cake stand out like no other. It;s easy to use, so don’t be afraid, you will love it!
I love the International Delight Iced Coffee Mocha flavor, but they have three additional flavors to choose from, Vanilla, Caramel Macchiato, or Mocha Light and you could if you like, use any of them in this recipe, the Mocha just is my favorite.
There you have a secret family recipe and my love of International Delight Iced Coffee all year long, like I said there is no reason to wait for Summer to roll around. Check out some of these amazing recipes, they would be wonderful for your Thanksgiving or Christmas gatherings or just anytime of the year.
Have you fallen in love with the International Delight Iced Coffee yet? Would love to hear how you enjoy it this time of the year, leave me a comment below, Let’s chat while sipping some Iced Coffee.
