On our recent trip to Germany we also took some time and explored one of the Adventure Parks that I grew up with. On our trip to Germany in 2012 we didn’t had the time, so we made sure this time around we would plan a visit to Freizeitland Geiselwind to relieve my childhood memories and to create new memories and share with my Family.
The park is about 30 minutes away from my hometown Kitzingen in Bavaria, so just a hop and we were there. Unlike in Florida, where the Disney Parks and any other parks are overcrowded it was nice to walk up to the door and see no lines, no lines in the Free Parking lot and no lines insight the park for any of the rides at all. It was so nice to enjoy a Family day stress-free and being able to ride everything you wanted multiple times during the day and still see everything on your list.
The park has over 20+ different action filled rides as well as shows, lots to do for all ages, that’s for sure. Some of the major Roller-coaster were a hit with my older kids and some of the not so rough rides like the water rides were a hit with the little kids, but the entire family had fun and there was really something for everyone.
The boys LOVED the looping coasters, upside down backwards and high speed couldn’t stop them either, they went back to the same coaster about 15 times back to back while I enjoyed my ice-cream on the side line, I already got a squeeze tummy just looking at one loop. The kids loved it and even for Teenagers that never ever have fun anywhere, because they are just too cool to hang out with Mom and Dad at an Adventure park, they loved it! Mom scored bonus points there, that’s for sure.
The park had lots of simple things as well like sliding down a long slide with a carpet, it made everyone feel like they are Aladdin and they couldn’t stop to have a race or two, too. This ride was for the big kids as well as the little ones a lot of fun and I can’t even count how many times they lugged that carpet up those stairs and tell me “I love this mom, can we build one in the backyard?”
A lot of the rides were old, not meaning they looked old or run down, not at all, but a lot of them were from when we were kids, rides that you used to see at a fair when it came to town. I loved that my kids could experience all the simple rides that we used to have when we were little. They had a blast.
The park was very clean and all the rides were kept up and renovated very well. It had changed a lot since I last visited this park back when I was little, I would say early 90’s probably if not sooner. But some things reminded me of when I was little, they had a mushroom ride (it looked like a red mushroom, a single ride going up and down…lol) for little kids and I remember I loved that ride, unfortunately this time around I was over the height and defiantly the weight limit, but my daughter loved it.
I’m sure all of you remember or have been in the Tea cup ride at Disney; well… they had a similar ride and you will NOT believe what it was… WINE CUPS… YUP, you sat inside a wine cup riding around a giant wine bottle, it was hilarious, but totally showed our Franconia Wine Land’s tradition. I loved it, I just got tickled that it was a wine cup for a kids ride, this would never fly in the US, think you may be sitting inside a beer cup circling around a beer bottle… LOL.
As you can see, we had a fun Family day and creating lots of new memories with my Kids. I can honestly say this was one of the best $100 ever spent on an Adventure park, you heard me right, it was $100 for all 5 of us to play, ride and have fun for the entire day, and there was no parking fee either!! The food was a little expensive, but the food in Germany in general has been expensive, so we brought our very own pull trolley and had a cool box with food and drinks and it worked out beautifully; we all picnicked whenever we wanted to eat something. Totally budget friendly and if you are ever in Germany and near the area it is worth a day trip, too. You should totally plan a visit and have fun with your Family, I know we had a blast.
For more information about this Fun Park in the middle of Franconia and wine land, be sure to visit their Website and add it to your Must Do list, you will not regret it!
I was not compensated and was not asked to write this post; I’m just sharing our family Vacation with you and give you ideas in case you ever visit Germany, too. Be sure to visit all my other Germany Adventures while you are here.

The Adventure Park in Germany is amazing. I liked the rides and that there are no lines like here in the US. The price is great. I sure would love to visit this park.

I lived in West Germany for almost 5 years while in grade school and would love to return someday. And yep, an amusement park would be on the list!
