After a lot of sight seeing, autobahn travel and rainy days, the kids soo wanted to have some fun of their own. A friend of mine invited us to spend the day with them at a HUGE playground called “Tucherland”. The park is near Nuernberg, so an hour drive from home on the Autobahn, no big deal at all. We are masters of the Autobahn now, so off we go…….
Once we arrived, I didn’t really know what to expect. I guess I thought it was an indoor playground type setting. It was actually a HUGE indoor as well as outdoor playground, with lots to do for the entire family. They had those climbing cages, jumping houses and even rock climbing, and the entire family, even Mom & Dad could participate; the indoor section was truly humongous and the kids spend hours exploring. There was also a tricycle race track, Mom & dad was welcome to race with the youngsters, but we lost, every single time….they had a cannon shoot inside of a climbing cage and the kids had a blast. There was also indoor climbing and balancing beams on the ceiling for extra adventure.
Food was also a hit with everyone, French fries, schnitzels and yes, Hamburgers; couldn’t beat the price, all 5 of us ate and drank for less then $10…not bad at all for an afternoon of play. Once we explored the inside play area, we decided it was time to check out all the outside activities. Unfortunately it was a gray, cold and rainy day, we couldn’t take full advantage of the “lake” and water play area, sure did not want the kids to get sick. We did enjoy the Bobby Car race track, which hubby and the kids couldn’t get enough off, the petting zoo as well as a Climbing wall for the older kids…. another outside playground and they even had electric cars where the little ones could drive around, on their own and make their drivers license…. SOOO much fun.
We spend almost the entire day just having fun and once it was time to go, Hubby and the kids all agreed “we have to come back one more time before we leave”…. they would have loved to come back the very next day if I let them…. that’s how much fun it was…. the nice thing, it was fairly affordable all day play; our family of 5 was less then $25 to spend ALL day at this indoor/outdoor playland with lots to do and see…..so worth the trip on the Autobahn and if you ever come to visit in the Nurnberg area, be sure to let te kids play there for a day to get all their energy out after sitting in the car and airplane for hours/days….. ENJOY… we sure did…
