Friday was the last day for Drivers Ed for the Teen; he finished his class and he did an awesome job. He passed all the tests and road test with flying colors and I couldn’t be prouder of my Teen. He still has his learners for a good 11 more month, but I feel a lot more confident taking him on the road after he completed the Drivers Ed course. Yeah for the teen!!!!
The Tween and I decided we would surprise the Teen after dinner with a treat, since he passed the test and now doesn’t have to wake up at 6 AM during summer vacation to be at Drivers Ed at 7AM!! I think mom deserves a Pepsi Float, too, since I had to take him that early every morning …lol .
Hubby, Tween and Toddler in tow I went to the Murphy USA gas station up the road, since I had to fill up on gas anyways, I thought I could run in and get a Pepsi 20oz to complete the Pepsi Float. Talking about gas, I was pleasantly surprised that our gas prices in central Florida had dropped to $3.42 and if you use the Wal-Mart Gift card or Credit card you will save another $.05… whohooo, that was just a little side note
Did you know that Murphy USA has a lot of different drinks and snacks right at the gas station? I was totally surprised, because our Gas station is part of Wal-Mart and only had a little tiny room for the cashier to be in, they still only have this little tiny room, but they had merchandise all over the place, I had no earthly idea that they had soo many different things all at the gas station, drinks, snacks, windshield washer fluid and so much more.. too cool. I think I should go out more often and check out our Murphy USA gas Station
So, I was on the hunt for Pepsi, I saw an advertisement that they had Pepsi 2 for $2.50, but they were no where to be found, none of the Drinks had any stickers or price signs, however there were a few promotional signs with some special pricing, the 20 oz was currently on sale for Buy 2 Get 1 free, sounds like a plan, I love Bogo Deals, count me in. I did ask the Cashier first if she knew about the Pepsi 2 for 42.50 deal, but she had no clue, couldn’t even help me other then tell me, that the 20 oz are on sale for Buy 2 get 1 Free and that’s almost the same prize, according to her… I wished they had the price clearly marked so it wasn’t as confusing looking for a product or comparing the price
Okay, we had our Pepsi on hand, what else did we need for a Pepsi float? I honestly never made a float or even had one, but I know the Tween loves Pepsi and he loves floats, so I thought it would be such a cool treat to combine the two.
I guess we need Whip Cream, check in the Fridge, Ice Cream, check in the freezer and maybe some sprinkles, check in the pantry… well sounds like we had everything we needed, so back home we went.
Once I got home I had the tween pick a cup and help me assemble the Pepsi Float for the Teen, the toddler of course had to be part of this surprise and couldn’t keep her lips sealed, she ran as quick as she could to the Teen and told him “Surprise, we have ice-cream for you”… she was so proud of herself .
We added the ice-cream to the cup, poured the Pepsi over it, toped it off with Whip Cream and some sprinkles… and called the Teen. He wasn’t as surprised as I wanted him to be, because the Toddler had to tell him every step we took in preparing the Float, but he loved it. He had never had a Pepsi float and he truly enjoyed it. I think after a few long weeks of working hard, getting up early and showing some responsibilities, he deserves this cool treat.
If you like to make your own Pepsi Float this is what you will need:
-
Pepsi
-
Ice Cream
-
Whip Cream
-
Sprinkles
-
anything else you like to decorate your Pepsi Float with…
Enjoy……. take some time out of your busy day and have a Pepsi Float, share it with your loved ones or keep it ALL to yourself. I also enjoyed my very first float, a Pepsi Float to be exact.. yummy.. perfect ending to a wonderful day with a wonderful family

Becoming a driver is an important step toward adulthood in our society, so it is great that you marked the occasion with a family celebration.

Congrats to the teen! Passing that course is like a badge of “grown-up-ness” (yeah, I know it’s not a word!LOL) He looks so happy and proud with his certificate.
Eek! Mine will be doing this much sooner than I imagined!
In Michigan, there is a law that stores must put price tags on everything so you know exactly what you’re paying. The law changed a little this year (they no longer have to tag and re-tag everything when it goes on sale), but I love knowing the price of things the minute I look.

Thanks Alicia, I will let the teen know.. he sure was proud.. 🙂 It is a big step..and yup it comes wayyy too fast… You know, I have no idea if Florida has a similar Law, I just kow it wasn’t as easy at the Gas station to find a price tag for some of the things… will have to check into that.

Awww… That’s too cool! I’ve never thought a regular pepsi float would be good. I usually use Cherry Pepsi (to add that cherry flavor). Should try it next time or get some cherry syrup and drizzle some on the whipped cream! 🙂
