Welcome Summer with a Spagetti Eis Treat

May 24, 2016 By Melanie Roberts 1 Comment

Are you ready to see how I create the famous German “Spagetti Eis” treat (pronounced “Spaghetti Ice”…lol) dessert? Well, grab some spoons and napkins and start drooling. This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #SoHoppinGood #TopYourSummer #CollectiveBias

It’s Summer, Sun and Fun and kids are almost out of school. This year I have loads of fun things planned from the kids cooking dinner to me serving up special treats. We also will hang out by the pool and dream of our Germany trip two years ago.  Time sure flies when you are having fun and since we can’t visit Germany and our family this year we just have to bring Germany to Florida and make it fun for all. What ya say, are you along for the ride?

No tickets needed, not passport either, just head over to Walmart, grab a few of the key ingredients to make this all time favorite German Dessert and you will get to enjoy it in no time. You see “Spagetti Eis” is a very special treat in Germany”. You can pick up your personal “Spagetti Eis” bowl at any ice cream parlor and it’s very flavorful and almost everyone in Germany will tell you that “Spagetti Eis” is their favorite summer treat. Ahhh… The memories, how I miss it!

Ok, back to reality, while at Walmart pick up a few of the Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla along with a few other Blue Bunny® Ice Cream flavors for later in the week and your Smucker’s Strawberry Spoonable Ice Cream Topping. Did you know that Blue Bunny® has the new clear packaging? It’s awesome, I love the new container not only will it  allow you to see the flavor swirls but the empty container is great for storing your leftover ice cream, fruit or toppings all summer long. Win win for all!

This is what you need #SoHoppinGood Spagetti Eis #Recipe Card Spagetti Eis Creation ala GermanyIsn’t it easy to make this delicate German dessert? My family loved it and all agreed the taste of the Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla made this dessert very authentic and the taste was the same as in Germany. We used the Smucker’s Strawberry Spoonable Ice Cream Topping and it was the perfect combination and you can top it with white chocolate instead of the coconut that I did if you like, I however like the crunch of the unsweetened coconut paired with the creamy ice cream and the fruity topping. Also, I used a Potato Ricer to make it look like “Spaghetti”, you can pick one up for under $10 at Walmart, Amazon or any of your favorite retailers.

Such a treat during the dog days of summer or for any BBQ party with family and friends. You could make these ahead if you like and just place them in small bowls in the freezer, don’t spoon the Smucker’s Strawberry Spoonable Ice Cream Topping on, wait till you actually serve it and voila, you will WOW everyone! I used fresh whipped cream but you can certainly use already made whip cream if you like.

Now excuse me while I go and eat the other Blue Bunny® flavors that we brought home, my plan is to top them all with fruit and lots of fresh whip cream, fresh toppings are my favorite. If you haven’t tried fresh fruit with your Blue Bunny® I’m telling you, you are missing out big time! The possibilities are endless just like the flavor combinations Blue Bunny® offers, besides the Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla we really enjoy the Blue Bunny® Cookies & Cream and the Blue Bunny® Banana Split, however our game plan for the summer is to taste every single Blue Bunny® flavor and have the kids vote at the end which flavor they liked best and I can’t wait to surprise them and their friends with a back to school pool and ice cream bash. Bwhaaaaaaaa…. Who is the crazy mom now?

#SoHoppinGood

Happy Summer ya all… Remember to have fun, stay safe and eat loads of Blue Bunny® Ice Cream. Share your favorite summer memories with me below, you know I love to hear them and learn all about you and your family. What is your favorite Ice Cream and topping creation?

#SoHoppinGood Ice Cream Summer Fun

P.s. YES… I spelled “Spagetti” differently, that’s the original German spelling, which in English translates to “Spaghetti”. Totally on purpose and not a spelling typo. LOL… Happy creating.
