Hope you had a great weekend… our first weekend while the kids were out of school, it was kind of crazy. The weather in Central Florida for some reason was really strange; it was hot and muggy in the morning and then around 2pm both Saturday and Sunday the rain came and settled in for the rest of the day. Very unusual for us, so indoor activities was what the kids did all weekend… I did a little cooking and baking and the kids loved it.

German-Dinner-table-Pasta-salad-with-Franks

I made some German Cream Puffs for snack, German Scrambled Pancakes for breakfast and yup, you guessed it German Pasta Salad with Franks for dinner. The kids love when I cook, because 90% of the time I cook something German and about 90% of the time it’s totally new to them and they love the new and different dishes. I love to cook, just don’t have much time between my day job at the office, blogging and then of course running the household with 3 crazy kids, 2 crazy dogs and a crazy wonderful husband, time is short. I love rainy weekends like these where I can just enjoy my kitchen and create something special.

What did you do this weekend? I also had lots of time to find some delicious dinner ideas. Weeknight dinners are cooked by hubby, but picked by me… hahah I have to keep some control in this crazy home…Smile .

Thanks for the ideas! I’m going to try Meatloaf in Crockpot with baked potatoes! I love cooking in the crockpot in summer because I put it on the patio and then I don’t have to worry about heating up the house.

Ooh, I really want to try your crockpot meatloaf recipe, that looks really good and haven’t tried making it that way, yet. Your ideas are always so inspiring! (PS- you will love the pulled pork, it’s so tender and flavorful, one of my absolute favorites!)

I don’t cook very often but one of the few things that I like to make is macaroni salad. I never put in franks before but I do always use Hellman’s mayo.

These recipes look delicious. I love dishes that contain pasta so I will definitely be trying out your Bavarian pasta salad with franks. I’m sure the kids would love it too.

I have never made my meatloaf in the crockpot and that is a great idea. I’ll bet those french fried onions add so much flavor too…I love them

Great sounding menu. I hit some great meat mark downs this morning, one is a nice pork shoulder with lovely thin layer of fat on one side. I am using your pulled pork recipe tomorrow in hopes that I will finally find one that works for me.
