Easter Fun Craft for thekids grow your own Easter Egg Grass

We all love to have a fun Easter Sunday Table decoration and why not have the kids grow it for you? It was so simple to do and my daughter loved every step of it. Best part, it’s cute, cheap and takes no time at all.

You Need:

  • Plastic Easter Eggs, size of your choice
  • Egg Holders that will hold the size of your eggs, I got mine at Michaels for $3 and it’s porcelain and can be used over and over
  • Cotton balls
  • grass seeds ( I bought a small bag of grass for spot seeding at Walmart for $2.97)

How to do it …..

  1. Take the eggs apart and add them to your egg holders
  2. Wet some cotton balls and add them to your plastic eggs
  3. Sprinkle the grass seeds on top of the wet cotton ball
  4. I toped my grass seeds with another cotton ball just to keep I s moist and removed the cotton ball after about 3 days when the grass started to grow
  5. Water a little every few days…..
  6. After about 5 days, this is what you get….

Now the kids can either practice cutting, it will re-grow, just keep it moist and in a sunny place till you need it. Kids can “decorate it”, we used cupcake sticks and added them to our grass, kids can easily color their own and attach them to tooth picks; the possibilities are endless. No mess, no fuss, but a fresh green table deco in time for Easter Sunday

I love this idea!! How adorable! These would make great place markers, too, for the table I would think. Could easily put a little sign in each. So cute!!!

Yes a sign with a toothpick will work perfect; that’s how we added the bunnies …. such a cute idea as a place marker

I think it’s great for kids to see plants growing. Not in time for Easter, but you could plant some flower seeds in there.
