Family… What does the word family mean to you? Is it your Mom, your Dad, your sister or maybe your Daughter and you? Your Son and You? Family has so many definitions and nowadays families come in all different shapes and sizes.
My family is multi-cultural with me being German, my husband American, we have one daughter together and I have two boys that I brought into our family, we are a patch work family and loving it. No matter what we are FAMILY.
Some kids are being raised by their aunts or uncles or grandparents, no matter what they are your family and I doubt you would call them anything else.
With the month of May slowly drawing to the end, spending the holiday weekend with my family having fun in the sun I also looked back at some of the fun movie nights we had, together as a family. As some of you may already know we have a movie night at least once if not two nights a week, mandatory in my home and every one of the kids gets to either pick a movie or their favorite snack, sometimes the kids pick dinner, too. Just our way of connecting.
Last night we enjoyed one of our all-time favorite movies on Netflix while floating in the pool. We had our very own pool party movie night and the kids loved it. Even the teen’s enjoyed it. The movie of choice was Spy Kids. I don’t think the series ever gets old with any of my kids, they’ve watched the entire series over a million times but they love it like it was a brand new show. Thanks to Netflix we can now watch it anytime we feel like it. What a blast we had!
A few other movies that may be fun for your family to watch during your next movie night are listed below. I’m sure there is something for everyone. Netflix has a great way of keeping everyone entertained. Come rain or shine when the kids get out of school I already know what our first night consist of … A Pool & Netflix Movie party!! You so have to try it, you will love it, too! And… if you happen to be in my neighborhood, feel free to jump in just bring a towel and hang out.
