Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I love to make simple DIY ideas that are very affordable but easy enough for the kids to make. We all know mom’s love to get personalized things and that’s when the idea for my DIY Photo Tile Coasters came to mind.
As you already know once a month I’m part of this amazing #CreativeHop where a bunch of us bloggers create fun recipes and crafts around a theme to share with all of you, this month we decided to create fun gift ideas, whether it be for Mom, Dad, teachers or friends, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to visit all the awesome ideas below and make sure you bookmark to keep all the fun ideas handy. Most aren’t just for a special occasion and can be adapted to your needs.
Okay, back to my super fun Mother’s Day idea, it’s super easy and was under $5.00 that included everything but the Mod Podge, I already had that at home. Everything else I picked up at Lowes. Yes… you heard me right, Lowes!
This is what you need:
-
Small ceramic tiles, actually any size of your liking is fin, the small ones are $0.15 at Lowes.
-
Felt stickers or if you have felt at home use that with hot glue
-
photos (I printed mine at home on regular white paper)
-
foam brush and mod podge
-
I printed my photos at home on my regular printer, I did resize them to a square 3×3 (You can use your photo editing program or even PicMonkey)
-
Mod Podge the tile, put your picture on top and mod podge over the picture.
-
Let dry ~ Took me only about 30 minutes
-
Add felt stickers to the back of the tile to eliminate scratches on your table
-
Voila; your Picture DIY Tile Coaster is complete.
Isn’t this such a fun, simple and very budget friendly idea? I know every mom would love to show off their little ones when friends and family show up for summertime parties or get togethers. The coasters are water proof once they are dry; the glue may turn a little white if you have a cold glass on it, but once the tile is dried again it will go away! So no worries!
Now if your mom is anything like me, I would want to test my coasters right away, so I decided to share a super fun, delicious and fruity Blueberry Mocktail drink that you can whip up for mom in no time and show her a little extra love. Since it is Blueberry Season in Florida, I decided that Blueberries would be wonderful, but you could use different fruits as well.
Isn’t this a fun and simple drink? Even the kids can enjoy it and let me tell you, my daughter LOVED it! I love using lemonade in my drinks and this is just the perfect sweet/tartness combination and so perfect for a hot summer day. I bet it would be pretty on a Mother’s Day brunch table to spoil your mom or even grandma a little.
There you have our idea for a simple, budget friendly Mother’s Day gift idea. I can’t wait to hear what you think of the Photo Tile Coasters or how your Mom enjoyed the Blueberry Mojito, be sure to leave me a comment below and come back next month to see what our #CreativeHop team will come up with to make your “Summer” a lot more fun.

I keep coming back to this post; I think I’ll pick up the materials I need to make a set of these coasters for my sister. She’d love a set with pictures of her cats and flowers from her garden. Thanks for the how-to.
