Lunchbox Tuesday: Goodbyn Original Lunchbox Review

February 22, 2011 By Melanie Roberts 2 Comments

Recently I did a little research online in my “spare” time and we are all about going Green in our house. So when I came across EcoMom I had to stop and spend quite a bit of time on her page. She has everything imaginable you would need and can think of on her website and all is Eco Friendly. That is amazing. From Bottles, to cloth to Lunchboxes and toys. Just a wonderful store with wonderful products. If you haven’t heard of EcoMom, you should go and give her store a visit and check out all the wonderful Eco Friendly products that are available for you and your family and I bet you will love them as much as we do. Eco Friendly doesn’t have to be boring or weird looking things. I remember when I grew up in Germany; Eco Friendly 20 years ago already was a HUGE thing. But nothing was cute and fancy; when we heard Eco we all pushed up our noses and said “uugghhh”…. Everything was the same whitish, eggshell color and nothing was cute at all. So that kind of branded me, when I hear Eco that’s the first thing I think about… But I was proven different and I beg you to check it out and you will not really notice a difference anymore between your regular products and the Eco friendly products available nowadays.

I was given a chance to review this cool looking Goodbyn Lunchbox; it is BLUE… and Eco friendly…. No gray, no eggshell color.. Nope BLUE… and to my surprise there are many different colors if I like to get more of these lunchboxes. This Goodbyn Lunchboxis made in the USA. Recyclable. Lead, BPA and phthalate free. Dishwasher safe!!! Wow… all things I love.. So this Lunchbox sounds perfect for us….. Once we got it in, I was very excited. I love to showcase new, cool, unique lunchboxes here on Lunchbox Tuesday and introduce you guys to different products that are available. I knew this was something cool.

My Tween was all over it, this is honestly the first lunchbox that I have found that will hold enough food to get my Tween and even my Teen (!!) through the school day. It is HUGE …. With 5 HUGE compartments, this lunchbox looks like it will hold 5 pounds of food…J well, maybe not that much, but it sure is HUGE. The Lunchbox comes with a small drink container that will fit perfect inside one of the compartments; the lid is all one piece and will seal tight the entire lunchbox. I do have to say the lid was a little bit of a challenge for my Tween and even myself. It has a lot of compartments that need to be pushed down to make sure the lid is tight on all of them, but once you figure it out, it’s simple to remember that and it really was tight. My Toddler had to have it for her lunch at the sitter and we filled it with her favorite things and she tossed the lunchbox around on the way to the car, banged it all around on the car trying to climb inside the car and then threw it on the floor in front of her. I guess it was her little test to see if it works. I was so worried, because if the lid would come off…. So will ALL her lunch and we are very tight on time in the morning between getting the Tween off to the Bus and the Toddler to the sitter, I would not have time to make her another lunch….. BUT nothing happened, the lunchbox stayed closed and we ended up at the sitters on time, lunchbox in hand an all…J

That night all I did was take the entire lunchbox and put it in the dishwasher.. I love it… no more stains on the fabric that makes the lunchbox look yucky… I love the fact that the entire lunchbox can be washed. Super cool. I could go on and on why we love this and it is a keeper… but why not check it out for yourself….at EcoMom, it retails for $24.95 and is suggested for ages 5-9… I would really recommend this for ANY age.. I will even take this to the office for lunch… Also be sure to check out EcoMom Mom’s Blog for new cool Eco friendly product reviews, tips, tricks and anything for an Eco Friendly Family, you can also follow Eco Mom on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with all the important news.

Also EcoMom graciously offered to ALL my readers that have not ordered at EcoMom a 15% off of the entire First order till March 28, 2011 if you use code SBBL745

EcoMom provided with the product listed above for my honest review, no other compensation was nor will be provided and all opinions are 100% my own.
