Hard to believe but we are thinking about Christmas gift ideas. Where did the time go? In a week we will eat our Thanksgiving Turkey and spend time with our family and friends and share stories of thanks. I can not get over how fast the year went by. So while I had to head to Big Lots the other other day to pick up a few more items for our Thanksgiving meal, I also walked down the Holiday aisles and quickly came up with a few gift ideas for the kids teachers.
I love shopping at Big Lots, always something new, always something to find and always at great prices. While walking through the Christmas aisle, I fell in love with the amazing Christmas decor both for the home as well as the tree. Loved it! The prices are amazingly affordable and there was something for everyone.
I decided to make my daughter’s teacher a fun gift this year. My Budget was $15 per gift, since I had 5 teachers to shop for and while picking up the last few items for my Thanksgiving meal, I found a huge selection of Coffee, all different flavors and brands. I knew my daughter’s teacher loves coffee so I decided on a coffee break gift idea this year. I grabbed a few of the K-Cups coffee package, found single serve creamer and a special cinnamon cookie treat. In the Christmas decor section I found a few cute packaging items that I knew I just had to have for my Teacher Gift.
In house-ware I found the perfect coffee cup and a small plate that would work well as a cookie plate so our teacher can enjoy her coffee and cookie right there on her desk. I picked up a few more nick nacks to round out the gift basket and before I knew it, I had 2 gifts ready and all under budget. Score for me! I know the teachers will love their gift, my daughter is super excited to bring it to her teacher the day before Christmas Break.
A few more tips for fun Gift ideas this Holiday Season
-
Sweet Treat Basket: Add lots of sweets, cookies and treats to a basket, add a fun ribbon and you got yourself a fun basket that everyone that has a sweet tooth would enjoy.
-
Gourmet Basket: I love Gourmet Baskets, add some French or fancy name crackers, a glass of pickled veggies, some cheese spread, a package of nuts, maybe a drink like non-alcoholic sparkling cider or a similar beverage. Add some simple, white plates, napkins and your gourmet gift basket will be a hit.
-
The pet lover: Pick up some dog/cat treats, some dog/cat toys, maybe some pet wipes to clean those dirty winter paws, maybe a new collar and a leash, place everything in a pet water/food bowl and wrap it with a bow. I know it will be a huff-hit all around.
-
Movie lover: Grab some movie candy from single serve gum drops to popcorn, add it all to a fun bowl, grab a movie or two and a 6 pack (well, you could add coke or any kind of soda your recipient may enjoy). Don’t forget to add chocolate raisins, they are a must. Also look for vintage candy that will be a hit in your Movie basket.
Simple ways to create a gift basket or box, fill the bottom with some paper or some sort of filler material and then sit the gift items inside the basket or box arranging them in a way where everything is somehow visible without opening the gift. Add a few fun Tree Ornaments for a little extra fun. Warp it all in a clear foil with some ribbon and voila, your very own gift package is ready. Personalized to your very own likes, and recipients likes as well. Why buy pre-made when making your own can be just as simple.
There you have 4 amazing, super easy and fun gift ideas that will be a hit with your recipient. The best part, Big Lots has everything for all the gift ideas I gave you, including fancy gourmet food items as well as hard to find candy. So a win win, one stop shop for you and a fun gift option for your friends and family.
Check out a simple wish list I made, you can print it out and hand to everyone at the Thanksgiving table so you get lots of ideas as to what everyone wants and needs.
Great quality, name brands, and trend right items, all at a great value and a lot more can be found at Big Lots, so why not make it your first and last stop this holiday season. From toys to housewares and gift items, Big Lots has you covered all the way around. Mark everything off those wish lists and enjoy the rest of the Holiday Season with your family instead of running from store to store. Big Lots is my store of choice this holiday season, just remember that styles and assortment vary by store.
Happy Shopping … I’m done with all my gifts and the Holiday Season barely started, I can enjoy my family to it’s fullest and finally make my German cookie recipes and share a lot of German traditions with my family, I’m excited. So glad we have a Big Lots nearby.
