I love to surprise my family and friends with fun gift packages for Valentine’s Day. I know the kids always made some cards or little goodie bags for their friends in school and hubby always took me out for dinner, too. It’s easy to just go buy a bag of candy or something pre-made and hand it over.
But in all honesty, it’s much more valuable if you give something that comes from the heart, that is personalized to your gift recipient and also won’t cost you an arm and a leg. This year I started to gather little things here and there while at the store, in the dollar spot, and I also found a lot of things around the house that I don’t need anymore and would love to have someone else to enjoy.
I picked up all my Hershey’s Chocolates while shopping at Target the other day, I know, my weakness. I buy too much chocolate, but Hershey’s is just so darn good and comes in so many flavors like oh my, have you seen the Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Hearts filled with Caramel or the Reese’s Conversation Cups, how about the Hershey’s Kisses
Why just hand someone a bag of candy? Nope, not this year, I’m sharing the love with some candy bouquet. This is a perfect way to share the love with just about anyone, your BFF your Mom, your child’s teacher or even the bus driver. Everyone will love the little gesture and the way you were thinking outside the box.
My 5 tips and must haves for your own Candy Bouquet
-
Containers: You can use anything from a plastic bucket to a fancy glass vase, look around your house I’m sure you can find lots, if all else fails use a brown paper bag, it will be cute. Totally don’t overthink it, grab a jar, a glass, a plastic container, make it fun and unique to your taste.
-
Colorful: The traditional Valentine’s Day colors are pink and red, but you can totally add colors of your choice, to make it special.
-
Flowers: Don’t just add candy, add fresh or silk flowers of your choice. I like roses, perfect for Valentine’s Day, but you can add whatever your recipient may enjoy from Daisies to Tulips, whatever you like works.
-
Add accessories: Love bling? Add blink, love glitter, add glitter, lots of ribbon, lots of curly things, make it look fun anything goes.
-
Chocolate: Yes… add chocolate. Check out below how I added mine to the bouquet, so simple and looks super cute.
There you have my 5 tips on how to create a fun personalized Chocolate Candy Bouquet for your loved ones.
A tip on how I added my candy to the vase, I added a small piece (about ½ way up the vase) of flower foam into a Valentine Tissue paper and placed that inside the vase. To attach my Hershey’s chocolates I taped a straw to the back, yup… I used regular tape. I then took bamboo skewers, the long ones and stuck them inside the vase, they nicely stick in the foam, I did the same with the flowers and any other things I wanted to add to my bouquet. In the end I took my Hershey’s Chocolate and just slipped the straw over the Bamboo Stick and voila, my awesome, super easy and fun Chocolate personalized Bouquet was done. Simple as that!
Now you can have your chocolate and eat it, too. Share it with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day in your very own unique way. I know they will appreciate the extra effort you put into putting together this very personal gift and share your #HSYMessageOfLove
