You have heard me talk about Restaurant.com many many times on the blog and you know how much I love their app and finding restaurants that I would have never found on my own. The best part with Restaurant.com certificates you support your local community, the little Mom and Pop places that maybe wouldn’t get a lot of traffic since they don’t advertise much and will be overlooked with all the big chain restaurants. You also know that I love to travel with my App and find amazing places all over the country. So Restaurant.com isn’t just helping your little community out, no you can help every community along your travels.

You’ve also heard that Restaurant.com has been filling tables since 1999 and is the destination for dining whether you like to plan ahead or find a meal on the go.  Restaurant.com helps diners discover the perfect dining experience and boasts nearly 50,000 dining deals available every day, even on the weekends!  And, the deals are easy to use – present the certificate to the server on a mobile device, or print out a copy, and voilà – the savings will be deducted from your final bill.  Bon Appétit!”

But, I bet you haven’t heard of this little treasure that we recently discovered on our way to Sanford, Florida to visit their German Grocery Market. I know, I’m crazy, I pack my family up on the weekends to jot down German Grocery stores to pick up a few familiar items that I like to use in the kitchen. Well, a few weeks ago was one of those trips, I had anticipated visiting the German Market for a few weeks now and felt like a little kid the  morning of our departure arrived. I was totally into what would I buy at the Market, what would they have and what I need to bring back and totally forgot that well, my family may get hungry on that 90 min drive there and another 90 minutes back. Sorry, if I’m planning a trip to my German Market, nothing stands in the way and I may, just may neglect my family just a tiny bit. Luckily for me, I have a wonderful husband that will step in on days like these to take care of the family.

It wasn’t any different on that day and half way there my husband pulled out the phone and asked me for what we would like to eat and where. I kept ignoring him, if I’m on a path to something I want you better not stop in-between, let’s get there and get there now! Yeah… I’m that crazy mom. So almost in Sanford my husband announced he had found a great restaurant on restaurant.com and he purchased a certificate and all of us would go there. Well, I was a little up sad, I wanted to go to my store and did not want to stop for food, but I quickly changed my tune when the restaurant was only a few blocks away from where I was going. We pulled up and WOW… a marina with tons of boats, an amazing few of the water and just a fun place to hang out for an early dinner.

The place my husband picked was Nemo’s Bar and Grill in Sanford, Florida. Thanks to Restaurant.com for offering gift certificates to this amazing place. Like I said, for one I would have never found it on my own and two I hardly ever eat out without a coupon or discount. There was plenty of parking and lots of seating. It was the perfect place for us and I’m sure the locals love their little hidden treasure as much as we have.

We got there around 2:30/3:00 ish I can’t remember and the place had a few people sitting around the bar and there was live, YES live music. I was totally surprised! Loved it, was different but totally cool and another thing they had a huge outdoor dining area, enclosed with mosquito netting, which is a must in Florida, but that did not take the breathtaking view of the water. This was beautiful!

I was still stun that my husband found this place on our way up and so close to our destination. I’m glad he was able to talk me into stopping for food first. Our waitress was super sweet and very professional. I don’t remember her name (she was amazing!!), but she mentioned her 3 kids and she was very kids oriented and wanted to make sure the kids had a good time, too. While sitting on the outside dining area we were able to listen to the live music through speakers, so beautiful watching the calm water and enjoying good music and a good dinner.

The menu was great, nothing fancy, similar to a take out menu on paper, but what they offered was amazing, from your normal chef salad to unique items like gator bites or a Hamburger warp and many other choices, I’m sure they had something for everyone. My kids all found something and they are very picky eaters to say the least. So that has to mean something. My Teen ordered the Hamburger Wrap and it was so delicious and unique, I had never though of wrapping a burger with all the fixings into a wrap instead of a burger bun; we loved it! I couldn’t resist the fried clams and fries, we are on the water so why not get some fishy things… LOL and my husband, well he was very adventures and got excited when he saw the gator bytes, he had to have them. I’m not a fan of gator, will never eat it but I have to say the plate looked very appetizing and smelled amazing! Check them out below.

Didn’t this look amazing? My husband loved it and ate his entire dinner and raved about it for days. It was truly a treasure we found and if we are ever in the area we will make a point to stop in. They were very affordable as well and even better with a $10 Gift Certificate from restaurant.com, can’t beat that! So if you are ever in the Orlando area take the short drive over to Sanford, it’s a beautiful place to hang out for the day and make sure to plan a lunch or dinner at Nemo’s Bar and grill and you will not be disappointed.

Everything looks so delicious! I have not gotten to experience Restaurant.com yet as they don’t have any in our area. I have plans to use them when we head out of town next time and can use all the tips/tricks I can get. Thanks!

I don’t have the Restaurant.com app yet, but we do use them often to try and discover new local restaurants. We even use them when traveling to save a penny and experience something different!
