You have clipped all of your coupons, made a list others would envy, and walked into your favorite store. You walk down the aisle list in hand and get excited because this deal is said to be one of the best. Then it happens. You get to the shelf and it’s empty. You don’t know why. You don’t whose fault it is nor do you care. All you know is that you have your coupons and nothing to use them on.I have good news! You can raincheck it!
What is a raincheck?
Basically a raincheck is a companies promise to honor a sales price when they do not maintain stock of a certain item.
Why Get a raincheck?
Why not? You avoid having to return to the store multiple times. You save gas and time. You may have to wait a little longer but you are guaranteed to get the deal at some point.
How Do I Get A Raincheck?
At most stores you can go directly to the customer service desk. Some stores can do them at the register though. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
What Stores Do You Know Of That Raincheck?
-
Publix – The item you are buying has to be in the weekly ad or an advantage flier. They will not raincheck unadvertised deals.
-
Winn Dixie – They have the same rule as Publix.
-
CVS – My CVS rainchecks ECB deals as well which means you can go back and still get your Extra care bucks.
-
Walgreens – They will raincheck deals but not the register rewards.
I am sure more stores do it but these are the ones I know for sure.
A Few Things To Keep In Mind
-
Some rainchecks have expiration dates. – While some companies don’t limit a time frame on rainchecks some do. Please look out for that.
-
Coupons Expire – Some stores will honor expired coupons because they did not keep the item in stock. Many will not. Make sure to watch your expiration dates.
-
Quantity Limits – Many rainchecks are written for a specific amount. If you want more than that you may have to make more trips to the store to try and find it in stock
